goin on a road trip to vegas this weekend.. anyone have any suggestions on what i should read in the car??
I read it and the other books in the series when I was young, maybe about 10, and I remember loving them... although I don't really remember much about it now. I just know I really enjoyed it. Now that you mention it, I'd like to reread them too.
I can kind of see what you mean about the writing now that you mention it. But I definitely LOVE the story. It's so messed up and gives me bad dreams! hehe Katniss kind of gets on my nerves a bit because she's not very aware of a lot of things... especially toward the beginning- she didn't seem even close to being as terrified as I would be in her situation. But I guess the kids in Panem must be used to it.
haha Harry Potter is my favorite! I feel really cliche saying that, but it's definitely one of my favorite series, along with His Dark Materials. I've read the books numerous times, and could definitely read them over and over and over and over...
I am also behind on my reading - I just decided to move this month, so I've been stressing about that.
I had an intense f-ed up dream last night that had a kind of hunger games theme so I am super excited to read it!!
I haven't gotten very far in 1984 yet, but I am going on a road trip this weekend, and will be reading in the car! Hope to get a lot read. How far are you guys in the book?
i've read hunger games too, but I really want to read it again, so I"m cool with that! hahaha but I am also willing to read other books. I couldn't get the Book Thief from the library, so I couldn't participate in that one.. but yeah!
well yeah I guess I should say I hated school except for college (not the actual studying part, just the living away from the parents while they still supported me financially, and just having a blast with my friends) hehehe.... ;)
I just finished reading The Hunger Games and Catching Fire (both in the same series) by Suzanne Collins. It's a young adult series about a dystopian society in the future. I strongly recommend them if anyone hasn't read them yet! I am even thinking of re-reading them soon (haha that's how I am, I get obsessed and keep re-reading books, especially young adult easy reads). THe third book is coming out in August!
I introduced myself over in the "Welcome" section, but I guess we can talk more here?I am 24 years old and live in California. I graduated from University about 3 years ago, and now I work a boring office job, and hopefully talking about books will help the day pass.. hahaha
Are you all students?
Hi! My name is Katie and this group seems to be what I'm looking for! I used to like to read a lot when I was a kid, but haven't found as much time now-days. I'd like to get started again! I have been looking around this site but couldn't find a group as simple and to the point as this, so I'm glad to find it! :)Also, I've heard a lot of good things about The Book Thief, so I'd like to read it, too!
