The door swung open and the floorboard creaked as Johnny stepped into the old Borhelm manor. “I shouldn’t have taken that bet.”
A ghostly wail echoed. “Carrots."
Johnny took another step into the room and the voice wailed again. “Peas.”
Another step…. “Turnip roots.”
Johnny started to take a fourth step and the spirit warned, “One more step, Johnny, and your goose is cooked.” (by S.L. Claytor)
Happy Halloween Everyone.

My color is green. First and foremost thought of as the color of nature. Green can represent different things in different cultures, including eternal life, environment, good luck, balance and harmony, and youth. On the downside, it can also represent such things as jealousy and envy.
Have you had a favorite color since childhood? What have you heard, read, or felt about that color and what it symbolizes?

4:50a.m. and awakened by three loud knocks on the door. Or three rings reminiscent of an old-style telephone. What do these knocks and rings mean?
Could it have been the lingering effects of a vivid dream? Are you tired or stressed out and your body and mind are letting you know? Maybe you feel that these knocks or rings mean something more.
It’s been proposed that these knocks may be angels or spirits attempting to communicate with us. Or possibly astral projection—our spirit leaving for, or returning from, the astral realm. There is also the “three knocks of death” theory. This one unnerves me. The superstition that these knocks are a forewarning of an impending death in your circle of friends and family.
Then taking another route altogether, recently someone asked if I’d read The Borrowers. Yes, I remember the books. But could I ever believe in tiny wee folk? And could they knock so loudly on a door? Still, who’s to say for sure….
Has anyone had these experiences? What are your thoughts?

Peak: The pointed top of a mountain.
Peek: A quick glance. To peep at something.
Pique: To arouse interest. To pique your interest.

Ever seen an orb? Ever taken a photo and had an orb show up in it? What are your thoughts on these orbs?
You might expect to encounter one in a purportedly haunted place. Dust, or are they something paranormal—spirits, energy, otherworld entities residing with us?
Ghost hunters, keep us informed. :)

There: To or at a place. Here and there. *Your bike is over there.
Their: Possessive of they. *This is their lucky day. Their family looks happy. Their home is nice.
They’re: Contraction of they are. *They’re all going to the mall.
Sometimes it's good to review the simple stuff :)

Immerge and emerge
To immerge is to disappear, dip, or plunge into something, as into fluid--to immerse. The whale immerged into the sea.
To emerge is to rise, or come out of. The rabbit emerged from its hole to enjoy the nice, warm sun.
Keep writing...and learning :)

What are these shadow people? Are they spirits of people who have passed on or are they something else?
