33825 The second book in the trilogy The Sword Channel Saga has been released. Book 1, Keepers of the Sword Channel, was released earlier this year. Book 2, Seekers of the Sword Channel was released last month. Spoiler alert, Book 3 is titled Finders of the Sword Channel, and it is progressing to the point where it could be released before the end of the year.

This book is do-it-yourself in several ways. First, the covers. I tried using AI to generate the cover of the first book, but AI is incapable of doing it exactly the way I wanted. So I made the covers myself, using DAZ Studio. I'd be interested in what you thought.

Second, like all indie authors, I'm sure, I was inundated by people who wanted to sell me promotion services, like trailers. After some correspondence and thinking about it, I thought I could make my own trailer. And I gave it a try. You can watch it here:

So, this is in the sword and sorcery genre. But I think both the swords and the sorcery are different than many others out there in this genre. And the swords and sorcery are not the main drivers. Rather, it's an exploration of deciding your purpose in life and pursuing it. It's about doing the right thing despite the cost. It's about authoritarian regimes and what to do about them (so relevant to the world we face today).

33825 Book 1 of the trilogy Sword Channel Saga got published on Amazon late last month. Hoping that people who bought it will get around to reading it so that they can write reviews.

Here's the blurb: Jalinda's people have been isolated from the rest of the world for 600 years, in a harsh land facing many enemies. They have only survived by using a Sword Channel, a device fabricated long ago that turns ordinary swords into powerful weapons. Jalinda and her lover Kyr face their Sword Ceremonies on their eighteenth birthdays, where their swords are given the potential to become Receptors when used in combat.

The teachings of Jalinda's people imbue her with the conviction that their purpose is to improve the world, but how can anyone improve the world when they are isolated from the rest of the world?

They are assigned to Abran's warparty. Their first encounter with a powerful creature turns their Swords into Receptors and also gives Jalinda an Extraordinary Power.

An unexpected calamity forces Abran's warparty out into the world, where they must travel far and overcome challenge after challenge in pursuit of their mission. They learn about how the world has changed since their isolation 600 years ago. Jalinda must learn to use her Extraordinary Power to help the warparty succeed, facing the forces that do not want them to succeed. Her warparty is counting on her.

I'd be curious if people find this blurb sufficiently intriguing.
