Thanks for all of your posts. "Black Cat" was mentioned as a home of Beat Poetry etc, so it may have been decades ago. But, you never know, there are still a few LA natives out there.Thanks again-JW
Does anyone know what happened to a store called Black Cat Books? I have an old reference from a CD liner note listing it as being on Griffith Park Blvd.Thanks - JW
Definitely "Blood Meridan" as the "The Road" is too sparse. "The Road" has a style and a signature of its own but has little in a way of character arc, plot, etc. Reading it is like trying to extract the marrow from an already picked clean bone.But in both you'll get the gist of McCarty's bent toward inhuman savagery.
