I have added your recommendation to my "to be reviewed and dissected" list :). I would love any recommendations you can throwvst me that you think may be a good fit, especially if some humor comes into play. I love to laugh while reading about new worlds with timeless struggles :).
Thanks!

I'm new to the group, and what drove me here at this point is that you all weigh in on recommending books you've read to people like me who are desperately seeking the next 'great read'. With that being said, here's my dilemma:
I've recently become infatuated with the science fiction/fantasy genre(s) in the last year (although some that I have read are often categorized in general fiction as well) and have been delving in to title after title, book after book, and am looking for my next favorite novel. Although, I've also learned that I am picky!
Here's what I've read recently that I LOVED:
- Mr Penumbra's 24-Hour Bookstore by Robin Sloan
- Off to Be the Wizard by Scott Meyer
- Ready Player One by Ernest Cline
- Replay by Ken Goodman
- Blackout by Connie Willis
I have also enjoyed the following in my past:
- 1984 by George Orwell
- Robopocalypse by Daniel Wilson
- Ender's Game by Orson Scott Card
- My biggest love: The Harry Potter series by JK Rowling
I love books that incorporate technology and the future (sometimes the not so distant future) into the storyline. I love books about books, whether it be preservation or unlocking a centuries old code with new fanged machinery. I'm enjoying these things, which are very apparent in Ready Player One, Mr Penumbra's..., and Off to Be the Wizard.
With all this being said, can anyone recommend some similar titles to these pieces, especially if they were one of your favorites? Any help is always appreciated!
