((Sorry, I might not be on for a few days, I dunno. :?))I shook my head, pressing on a bit. "Oh come on. It's just trash," I said, looking down the streets as pieces of trash and ash and dirt flew in swirls through the air. "Come on- I'm not letting this stop me."
"You seem very calm about this," I said, running along side him. "What if Stephen's dead?" I said it curtly, as though it was a fact, despite the growing sense of panic in my system. I knew they were dead- it was just too perfect of a situation for the Game makers to pass up, right? I tried to push the thoughts away, but it was still embedded there.
"Magi!" I shouted, amazed at her speed. Was this what she showed the Game Makers to earn her that higher score? "Magi! Wait!" I tried to follow her, but she was out of sight quickly. I turned to Nik, who was right behind me. "What do you think she's up to?" I asked as we ran back towards 3rd Street.
"Come on we need to get back," I said to the both of them, helping Nik to his feet. "I can't believe I was so stupid," I muttered to myself as Nik and I headed outside. "Magi, aren't you coming?" I asked.
"We thought that wa-" I stopped, fear jetting through me. "No way. It-It couldn't have been them..."
"Magi!" I gasped, my relief slowly turning to anger. "What were you thinking! Running off like that? What's wrong with you?! You scarred me half to death!"
"Nik?!" I screamed, running towards the building. I ran smack into the glass door that I hadn't seen before. When my vision focused, I saw that Nik was on the other side, clearly confused. But where was the thing that had attacked him? Why could I get inside? I backed up, running full on into the glass, hitting it with my shoulder. Not even a crack. I took out my axe, hitting it with renewed irritation and anger. Not a dent was made. "No-" I whispered, cut short by my fear.
I wanted to smack him for being so loud, but Magi was more important. "Magi?!" I called, running next to him. I didn't see her, but another cannon sounded.
"I know what you mean," I said, sighing. A cannon fire in the distance. "Oh no." I glanced at Nik, and I silently told him that we needed to hurry.
I did so. Towards our left was the Strip, with bright colors and towering bulidings. "Well, she wouldn't go that way," I said, pointing to it. "It's too bright and too..obvious." I looked to my right. "That way is the fashion district, which, ironically, isn't as lit up. There a quite a few places to hide, allyways and stuff." I raised an eyebrow, sure. "That's our best bet."
I blinked, unsure about his question. "Well, I-I guess I'd go to the Capitol Strip," I said, thinking back to my knowledge of the place I grew up.
Once outside, I was on alert. I knew the audience would be worrying, anxious to see if we'd be jumped, make out, or find Magi- not in that order. "Where to now?"
"No, I'm fine," I lied. I wasn't hurt, but the Capitol's gift had left me feelings fuzzy- overwhelming hate but also how bitterly alone I am here. The audience wants Nik to die.
((Hello there dears. I'm back after too long. I went through many things and I hope you are all still here. I've missed you terribly, but I'm glad to be back! :) ))"Careers," I explained, tieing off the bandages. "I killed them, though. Two ran off. There are 11 of us left." I gritted my teeth. "Nik I'm sorry- I didn't know he was going to bleed like this-" I paused, ripping off more of my dress to make bandages.
((phew. Okay, that may not be accurate, about the tributes, but I can't see any of my posts So I'm guessing.)
