Summer favorite - Woman In Red ;-) I am looking forward to reading Gone With The Wind !
( No I have not read it or seen the movie - GASP!) It will probably take me all fall , winter and spring , but I am looking forward to it ;-)
P.S. Beka ? I just thought of another book / movie adaptation ....What do you think about Stephen King's " It" ? Maybe I should watch that one as soon as I finish ...well IF I ever finish the book !
Oh Beka ! You and those " favorites " of yours ! My favorite is probably "Roots" by Alex Haley - I loved both the book and the movie . I think the movie was pretty much spot on and probably a little easier to follow with all the characters . My least favorite has to be Stephen King's " Misery " . I read the book first , of course , because I always do ;-) and I loved it . The movie for me was just ALL WRONG . So many details were left out or just wrong !
I guess maybe I shouldn't be too hard on you - I just remembered I have read these and will add them to my " read " bookshelf ! Thanks for the reminder ;-)
It's hard for me to pick my top five ! Today's top five for me are : 1) Shutter Island by Dennis Lehane - I was never a fan of mystery , until I read this book . I loved the "possibility" of this deep , dark story .
2) The Hour I First Believed by Wally Lamb - I am a Wally fan and this is by far his best work .
3) The Kite Runner by Khaled Hosseini - All I can say is " WOW " . This story also introduced me to my love of audiobooks .
4) Water For Elephants by Sara Gruen - The story is so interesting , the writing is fabulous , the characters are lovable and spot on and the lesson this book reminds us of about dignity and respect of the eldery is tops !
5) Step Wars : Overcoming The Perils and Making Peace in Adult StepFamilies by Grace Gabe - This book is tops on this subject , the info was so valuable at just the right time .
Check back tomorrow , my list may change with the day ! After all Beka , I only have 46 books on my 5 star list ;-)
