Am I wrong or we can only read something like that in Emma? Can't remember right now...
I was surprised to see that a man like the General believed every word Thorpe said to him. He could have made some "researches" to see if Catherine was indeed going to be rich! I mean, since he wanted a rich wife for his son, he could have checked Thorpe's information! Not a smart thing for a general! :)
Yes! For being a girl that had never met anyone special aside from the people of her family and some neighbours, she was quite smart! I didn't like the General's behaviour either. He would have been the perfect father for Mr. Thorpe!
I agree. :) Catherine's imagination was a little too vivid and I was sorry for her when she confessed her thoughts to Henry. He was a real gentleman and I liked how he treated her afterwards. At first I was a little surprised that he wasn't offended but then I understood that he realized that Catherine was simply naive and let her imagination guide her too much!
Exactly what I thought, Karlyne! If the General hadn't acted like he did, we would never have seen Henry and Catherine together. Well done, General Tilney! :)
Alright. I had to correct my comment! There are two male characters I dislike: Mr. Elton and Mr. Bertram. Elton is creepy and Edmund is blind. But the worse among Austen characters is definitely Mr. Thorpe. At least Elton knew that Emma was rich. Thorpe just assumed that!

Oh, right! I wrote Elton thinking of Edmund Betram... I don't like him either! Haha! Sorry! :P
Michelle-LOL! :DAndrea-No. Mrs. Allen was funny. Isabella was... not funny! Hahaha! Sorry, but girls like her always get on my nerves! :P
I agree, Michelle! He was so maddening! Had I been Catherine, I would have expressed my opinion about his silly topics with more determination. But Catherine was so sweet and naive that couldn't be mad at anyone. :) I also disliked Thorpe's sister. Isabella is such a silly girl! I had forgotten so many things!
Hahaha!! So true! You know, I have listened to some chapters, too. You've made me want to do that! :)
Miss Bingley is so hideous in that part!! I feel ashamed for our sex, too, Samanta!About Mr. Bennet's words... that's definitely an ironic quote! It's one of the best told by him :)

But it's a good feeling ;)
Hi Alexandra! The first book which came to my mind was Mr. Darcy's Secret. I liked it and it was a good read :) I'll think about something else!
