This is an opportunity to probe readers hearts and minds for literary gold -- desired character development. Name a character from a book that as you read it you wanted to see more, personality, or emotion, or understanding. Then take a stab at how you think that could have been accomplished. Is it also possible to overdo a character? You can discuss this point too.

Also, do YA characters need to be shallow?
