I have a Sony 350 e-reader which I absolutely love. I am considering adding an Android tablet to my electronics collections. I love the 350 in part because it is so small and portable, but what I am looking for in a tablet is something that can also read my Sony books in a bigger format and with the pictures in color. I'd also probably add a Kindle, Aldiko and Google book apps. I have the Sony reader app on my Android phone and it works beautifully, but does anyone have any experience about how it would format on the larger screen of a tablet? Or any other advice about using a table as an e-reader for magazines and newspapers? For me, a tablet would primarily be for web searches, email and a bigger e-reader. Any advice?
I installed this app on my LG Ally which just got the upgrade to the 2.2 operating system so I don't know if it would work with early versions. It's fun to have the books I purchased on my phone, but it can't sync pages with my Sony 350 because, of course, the 350 doesn't have direct internet access. So far the app doesn't show page numbers--maybe an upgrade to the app will do this--but for now this also makes it harder to pick up reading where you left off. It's a large app and the one thing that really irritates me is that it comes preloaded with 6 books and book samples that it is not possible to delete. Still, it is a great addition to the other reading apps I use on my phone--Kindle, Aldiko, Overdrive, and Google Books. Android reading apps are what made me decide to buy an ereader--before that I thought I would always prefer books in their hard copy format.
