39438 Webisodes are like TV series but online through websites Dean Koontz has one through his site for Odd Thomas but you can actually find this series and a few others on YouTube now as well.

39438 yeah that might be cool. Like a webisode thing? I thought Dean Koontz's Odd Thomas made a better webisode thing than a movie. The film was ok but it was lacking in a few things.

39438 Wow, I am so out of the loop with these titles and really need to catch up again. 9 books now...I think I only have 4 or 5 in the Maximum Ride series and have the other two When The Wind Blows & The Lake House. This would be a great series to bring to television at some point.

39438 Both my daughter and I are big fans of both these series of books and we love the differences between them. Remembering that there was news of these becoming films, quite a while back, we wonder if this is still the case, and if so, which series would the films be made from?

39438 My question has to do with Alex Cross. Was this character fabricated from one or more than one personality? Are there parts of him that are based off of a real homicide detective?

39438 When reading your books it is actually like watching the scenes in a movie. I once read what I felt was an important note by Stephen King in a book on writing fiction. He said the most important thing was to show people your story not just tell a story. How do you know when you've put enough visuals into your work without over doing it? I feel some authors and myself might go overboard in how long/many pages they take to describe things.
I also notice you are a master at hooking your readers in on the first page or even first paragraph...you get major props for that skill.

39438 James wrote: "Hi Will--one of the scripts that we’re pushing forward now is the Witch & Wizard movie. It’s looking to be pretty twisty, dark, and magical. I think this one could be really great."

Hey James, with Witch & Wizard being made into a movie, are the books going to continue and are they going to have a different direction than the movie?
How about Daniel X will he the big screem soon as well? Personally, I think that character would make a great TV series.

39438 My first question deals with the enthusiasm you wrote both the Maximum Ride and When The Wind Blows books with. You seem to get very excited about all the scientific discoveries and genetic research of coarse, is a major field, what other scientific break throughs excite you and are there any other subjects that you plan on pulling ideas from? Have any Science/Discovery Channel shows spark new paths for you? How about those glowing mice or monkeys that use mind control to manipulate a robotic arm?
My second question has to do with all the co-author work you have been doing. Goodreads has many great new authors on board here, do you think you may find your next talent within this site, and would you be willing to participate in any of the writing contests within these groups in hopes of finding your next writing partner?

39438 Oh and people that pass through a mental institution? I was hoping those doors had locks on them :O)

39438 So all this talk of Maximum Ride adapted to film, are there any more Alex Cross stories in the works as well? Have you ever thought of a cross over into another author's homicide police story or maybe even using another author's villian?

39438 I'm guessing this is the topic I should ask my questions under?

39438 I just hope that the movie is as good as the books. I thought the Percy Jackson movie was horrible compared to the books and it looked like Rick Riordan was on the set and had say in things...very confusing to see it done like that. I hope Patterson has more luck with this series. What are the thought on a Daniel X or Witch & Wizard film?

39438 Hey everybody!! I just joined this group and I'm so excited by it being on Goodreads. Patterson you are just Awesome. My daughter and I are still waiting to see a trailer for a Maximum Ride movie cause those books or the When The Wind Blows series would make blockbuster hits. So you know I am a fan of all your work and haven't found a book of yours that's bored me at all. Witch & Wizard and Daniel X are fantastic reads. Cross is by far one of my favorite cops. I think it would be really cool to see you hook up with J.A.Konrath's Jack Daniels character someday somehow. The book Thriller was the best anthology I've read in a long time and made my list of favs grow hugamungusly :o)
Ok I am looking forward to the Q & A and think this group is way cool. Thank you for creating it.
