Yeah, AC was different from the ones we're used to and love. But maybe Colfer wanted to try something different, something more random...Randomosity, anyone? I feel like, in a way, AC was an experimental venture into perhaps the more emotional or silly side of Artemis's story. I like both approaches, but I'm betting that he'll try to make the last book more like the previous ones, especially if he's paying attention to the reaction for AC.

And I was the same as you guys about the first book; picked it up a long time ago and the first chapter didn't hold my attention--a little later I actually read the whole thing and was hooked! And yes, what ticked you off about Opal Deception?

I like Atlantis Complex. Sometimes I like seeing Artemis vulnerable.

Oh, btw, I'm reading the Odyssey and it references a story about Artemis (the goddess) who shot down a guy named Orion for...doing something bad. That's probably why Colfer named Artemis (the boy genius) 's alter-ego Orion. I thought it was also symbolic that Artemis (boy) eventually defeated Orion, just like in the myth.

Haha those are some pretty good points. I'm still an Artholly shipper though. :D

What are your guys's opinions on ARCs? I've heard some people are opposed to them because it's not fair for some people to have select access, and it allows people to critique drafts that the author(s)/editor(s) aren't done with yet, giving the audience inappropriate reviews based on unfinished works. Plus, some people with ARCs leak details and most authors hate that.
On the positive side, it's awesome for the people who get them and gives fans more information, though some of it may be inaccurate.
So, what do you think?

I tried to draw a picture of Artemis the other day but it failed. :( I was going to draw him on a date with my friend, because my friend is convinced she's going to marry him. Someday she will find her Artemis. <3
