"We can't fight back. Not like this," Karston said, surveying the group. "One hurt, all of us exhausted. I don't know what we can do, but we can't fight unless directly confronted."
Lyla couldnt believe her eyes. More erasers. Could the world really be this cruel?? Karston flew over to Lyla and helped her get Rinnie out of the tree and down to the others, ripping a portion of his shirt off as well to help the girl's shoulder, which had thankfully slowed its flow. "What are we going to do?" Lyla asked the group, so shocked she was calm.
Karston blinked, and blinked again. But every time he opened his eyes, they were still there. Erasers. More than he had ever seen at one time, clouding the horizon. Finally coming to, he shouted down at everyone. "GO!!!" he screamed, taking the boy's arm and flying down to the others faster than he ever had before.
Lyla turned to Tarny, still pressing he soaked shirt on Rinnie's shoulder. "Go get thatboy in the sky, please," she said, pointing up to Karston, who had made no sign of having heard her.Karston looked at the hrizon, blatent shock and fear completely overtaking him. "No," he said aloud. "This can't be."
Lyla, seeing the fight was over, called over to Karston who was still hanging in the sky. "Karrie, help!!!" she called, desperation tinging her voice as she glanced back at the girl, who's palour was now whiter than the School scientists' coats. "This girl has lost too much blood!! We need to get her to the ground!!"
((kk. Wanted to ask cuz i didnt want you to think i was trying to control her or something))Rinnie was turning pale with all the blood lost. Lyla, normally so happy and bubbly, was silent and taut with worry and fear for both Rinnie and Karston. She had heard Trin say there were still 10, even after all the fighting they had done.
"It's going to be okay, it'll be aliright," she whispered, stroking the hair out of the wimpering girl's face. Please, she prayed, will this end soon.
Karston used everyonce of strength he had to keep fighting. This couldn't go on for much longer. Could it?
(( Poet, is it okay if Rinnie is in pain?? I would imagine a blow to the shoulder hurts))Lyla needed more cloth or supplies or something. The girlwas losing too much blood, way too fast. She finally took off the black overshirt she had on, the white cami under it stained with sweat and dirt.
Karston called over to Trin. "Do you know how many there are?" he shouted. He was facing 4 earasers alone, and it seemed like they were endless.
Lyla ripped the bottom of her shirt off and tried to staunch the bleeding on Rinnie's shoulder, all the while trying to moniter the fight in the sky. Karston continued to fight, but he was rapidly starting to tire. They were gonna need backup. Soon.
"Of course," said Lyla, carefully setting Rinnie up on the tree where she could better see the wound. "Go on," she said to Tarny. "I've got her." As they spoke Karston took out 2 more Erasers. Man, he thought, battling with yet another, that girl wasn'y lying when she said strength came in handy.
Karston punched one in the face and round kicked another, trying his best to help the girls. Lyla watched from the tree, overwhelming worry consu, ing her as she tried to remain unseen.
Karston, spoting the fight above, swooped down ans scooped Lyla in his arms, then shot back into the sky. "What's going on?" Lyla asked, unervd. He swooped over to the top of a tree and set her in it, then explained quickly "There's an Earaser fight over there. I wanted to get you off the ground just in case more came in through the ground. I'm gonna go fight." With that he shot off twords the fight.
Poet in the Dark wrote: "Trin looked down at Karston and Lyla and motioned for them to come with."Karston finally couldnt take it any more. He turned to Lyla, the need to fly burning in his eyes. "Can I go fly?" he asked.
Lyla smiled, but inside, she was uneasy. Lately he'd been treating her as more of a mom than a girlfriend, like she was tying him down. And she was, she supposed. She didn't have wings. She couldn't fly. She would always remain earthbound, when Karston belonged in the sky.
"What am I,your mother? Of course go fly. I'll be fine. I'm a tough cookie." He smiled at her gratefully, then ran and launched himself into the sky.
(( I <3 MAXIMUM RIDE!!!!!! On chapter 70 (for those nonexistent people that care :) And its awesome. How many books are in the series??? And does Fang like Max as "more than a friend"???????????))
(( I'm ALWAYS on 3-5 hours after all you guys!!!! No fair!!! >:( OHHHHHHHH I'm on the 30th ch of book 1!!!!!!!!! :) I had to get them from the library. I tried walking out of there with the whole series, but they only let me take 2 ))Karston looked up longingly at all the hybrids up in the sky. Oh how wonderful it would be if he could stretch his wings!!! But Lyla came first. He couldn't leave her alone.
Karston and Lyla aprroached the new girl together, holding hands as they went."Hi!" Lyla said, her bubbly personality shining through. "I'm Lyla, tiger hybrid." She smiled and ficked her tale at Karston. "And this is Karrie, or Karston. He's a swan hybrid." Karston gave a little wave, and looked around at all the hybrids. There were so many!!
Karston awoke to Lyla gently stroking his black hair. He smiled and sat up, kissing her lightly before noticing her new change of clothes and the ones she had layed out for him to wear. "Where did you get these?" he asked, motioning to the clothes beside him. She smiled mischeviously as she bundled up her white blonde curls into a loose bun. "I have my ways."
(( ha! cool. made one tody. ok, well i'm on randomly. it's almost never the same. i'll cya tomorrow then!!))Karston laid down beside Lyla, weariness trumping his wariness of the new girl. "I'm going to sleep," he mumbled, his eyes closing. "Please don't kill Lyla. Or me."
"Us too," he said. Hanging his head in his hands, Karston allowed himself a moment of panic. What were they going to do??? Why in the heck did he ever convince Lyla to run away with him????? Regainig his composure, he turned back to Sapphie. "When are you planning to head out?"((I'm gonna have to get off at 1:45))
"Yeah, well, we'll find something. We always do." He sat down beside Lyla, still sleeping calmly. He motioned for Sapphie to sit beside him. "We've been out for a day and a half now, and we havnt seen any sign opf the Erasers. What about you? Would they have sent some this early?"
"Thanks," Karston said, gently shifting Lyla off of him so he could stand. He gave Saphhie a shy smile. "We don't have much to offer besides Lyla's knowledge. I'm basicly useless, except as a body guard." He ran his hand through his short black hair then glanced down at his dirty black t-shirt and ripped jeans. "We are gonna need to change soon," he mumbled to himself.
