There arent any because trauma is the only cause of multiplicity. There's quite a lot about people discovering major trauma through flashbacks, and there's a small number about people whose early experiences were distressing but not the kind of things generally thought of as trauma. The Final Face of Eve is very good - she does eventually come to an understanding of her early years and how her personalities it developed - and why - but it takes decades. One I haven't read is Herschel Walker's, he states he was not abused but the violent bullying by other children certainly sounds like it to me.

There has been some hate speech on biographies in the last few months, including a nasty comment directed at me when I commented on someone else's review, and comments mocking DID as a diagnosis. The "flag" function is available to report anything discriminatory or mocking which attacks any mental health condition or disability.
Personal attacks on us or authors are also not allowed. I assume that includes libellous statements?
Goodreads have a really clear policy on what is allowed here. There is also a "block" option hidden at the bottom of each person's profile page so we can keep ourselves safe.
Inappropriate reviews -
The review contains an image with nudity or excessive violence, hate speech, pornography, or a personal attack on a fellow Goodreads member or author. Please do not flag reviews that contain profanity or are simply negative reviews of the book. For more on what we consider inappropriate, please see our review guidelines.

Astrea - the description of Katherines It's Time refers to her/them as "of those fascinating multiples". It makes them sounds like some kind of Victorian curiousity to be stared at and put on to "perform" for people's entertainment.
Chana - thanks for the info on Donna Williams. I will check it out
Just finished it and reviewed it -
The Fasting Girl: A True Victorian Medical Mystery It's more about anorexia, and even more about history.
Apparently other books have been written about her which must be more interesting (this was really dull). It's about Mollie Fancher - also the subject of this book by someone who actually knew her (and her others). Mollie Fancher, the Brooklyn Enigma; An Authentic Statement of Facts in the Life of Mary J. Fancher
Jean-Marie Charcot and Pierre Janet were very well known writes on DID and will have written on this (Janet mentions Mollie in particular), have a look at

The Three Faces of Eve was 1950s, I am reading a book from before that time but not recommending it (its dull).
There are a lot of reviews listed on here, although some are very, very short http://mpbooks.artefact.org.nz
