((ha ha thanks angus))Dav smells the fragrance and can barely contain the relief he feels "i guess you don't realize how much you miss something until you go without it for a while" he says with a smile. but his warrior defenses still hold a little suspicion for the beauty
Is this to good to be true? he thinks as he cautiously examines the grove and looks around listening for anything
((does he notice anything due to his suspicion? does he hear anything?))
Dav is so frustrated now he doesn’t even care where the heck they go. Seeing volmer stomp off he decides to follow forgetting, for a time, the lizardmen. “Come on guys.”
"Well that is the only lead we have right now on where or what exactly we are searching for. do you guys just want to go back to slogging aimlessly through the swamp?" dav says the last with a little more heat than was intended but stares solidly back at the group waiting for a reply.
((Well i think dav is already in front but if someone else wants to take point i am fine with them taking the hits ;) ))
Dav Stares into the fog in the direction Volmer pointed and begins trudging off. he turns after a few steps and says "come on guys we aren't going to find anything standing around. Whoever is bringing up the rear make sure you keep sharp and watch for anything that could harm the group."
Dav stands there listening to orthea's report not seeing the significance of more water "if there is more water out there all i see coming from it is trouble. there are sure to be crocodiles and if we go to deep we will be helpless against them. i say we continue looking for the lizard men and stay far clear of the lake"
Dav shifts impatiently wanting to get moving "does anyone remember the direction that the lizard man ran off in? I was unfortunately unconscious at that time." he looks around at the group hoping that someone will remember
“let’s go” dav shoulders his backpack holds his glaive and starts to slosh through the water in the direction of the fight yesterday
"let's give everyone an hour or so to oil their weapons and take care of their personal affairs and then set out after that lizard!" dav says finishing with a yell to relieve the anger he felt at being bested by that foe
dav looks up at volmer “well I decided last time and it didn’t end well but if I were to suggest something I would suggest following in the direction that the last lizard man fled. Maybe we will find something interesting and they shouldn’t be to hard to beat together if we run into anymore.”
Dav wakes early and refreshed, stokes the fire and begins to run his daily routine while the others awaken and get ready. when he finishes he sits down to give his armor and weapons a good coat of oil while on the look out for anything that could harm the party
((is there a fourth watch? if there isn't disregard this first statement))"i will take fourth watch then. if anyone needs me i will be 'focusing my mind and relaxing my body'as my master used to call it" he says in a respectful tone, still sobered by todays experience. Dav stands and goes over to a corner and begins his nightly routine of combat forms, stretches, and meditation.
Dav sits up straight and stretches out his back after volmer finishes healing him. He frowns at his damp armor and then realizes that if he doesn’t get it, as well as his glaive, oiled soon, than they will rust beyond repair. He pulls the oil out of his backpack and begins to remove his armor. He observes the air of weariness in the camp and says “I don’t think any of us are fit to move on today. Lets spend the night here and rejuvenate. We still have some sunlight left, lets try and get a fire started with whatever we can find that is dry enough to burn in this forsaken soggy wasteland.” He sees Volmer and goes quiet. He looks down at his glaive heaves a big sigh and says in defeat. “Thanks for the help Volmer... we would have been gonners without you... I am in your debt...” he bows his head respectfully swallowing his pride and realizing that he too is mortal. “My master always said that I would never learn wisdom or patience until I found myself on the brink of death. At the time I assumed that I had already learned enough of both... I thought much of myself... admitting defeat is hard. I will have to work on that if I am to become the perfect warrior.” He smiles and says with a wink “History never remembered the warrior who threw away his life because he couldn’t wait a few minutes longer.” He laughs and turns back to caretaking his gear not awaiting a response. Lost once more in deep thought.
Dav wakes up and sees volmer and smiles. "looks like you guys figured out we were missing after all. We had it covered." He winks and slowly pulls himself up on one arm. He listens to the conversation and then shakily gets to his feet, dripping water and sludge, ready to stumble his way to dry land.
