For this first round, we'll break the discussion up by every few chapters (anyone can start these discussions) to prevent spoilers. Everyone can go at their own pace.

After this first one we'll have a better idea of the pace of the group and can set more specific deadlines?

hehehehe. :) That's why I love books that are set in Philadelphia.

I just finished "Pillars of the Earth" by Ken Follett.

It was a bit dry in parts, but the story was really engaging! Maybe it's because I don't understand Architecture?

I am now onto the sequel "World without end". I miss the characters from the first book!

I googled "book club book suggestions" and there is an amazon page. This book looks interesting- it's a murder mystery.

It's called "The Sweetness at the Bottom of the Pie" by Alan Bradley. It's $9.19 paperback and $10 for Kindle.

The amazon book club page looks great, too.

I think that we'll have to pick a book that is available in hard copy as well as ebook.

I think that both are good choices, but I can only find the kindle version of Solal's book. I am more of a physical book kind of girl.

I'm reading this really strange book of short stories by Miranda July.

My friend got it for me for christmas. She always picks the perfect book/poem for me, so I'm waiting for it to hit me.

It's interesting, but not a wild page turner.

I don't have one in mind, so I'm open to suggestions :)

I know that we are all busy, but I was wondering if anyone would be interested in a "group read" sort of book club style?

It would be read at everyone's own pace with threads for different parts of the book, so you can participate without having finished the whole thing.

Maybe we could do a "classic" or a book that is a free e-book and widely available at everyone's library?

Anyone interested? Also, suggestions for books are welcome, too.
