Life Of Pi Book AnalysisCanadians might enjoy the book called Life of Pi if they are interested in survival type of stuff. Personally, I think most people will since they are interested in survival type TV shows, books etc. Perfect examples could be, TV show Survivor, Man Vs Wild, Survivor Man, and books like Hatchet and its three or four sequels, Robinson Crusoe and The Swiss Family Robinson. If you analyze the ratings, these are one of the most watched TV shows and also one of the most liked or most read or award winning books.
This book basically is about this kid named Pi and his miraculous survival story. It’s about how he survived approximately 230 days on this boat that was shipwrecked with a Bengal tiger. He finds a lot of other animals that he saves but the Bengal tiger eats them. He also finds this blind man, but the Bengal tiger doesn’t spare him either. The story is pretty cool and I’m pretty sure everyone would enjoy it.
Another reason why people should read this book is because the way it’s written. It has simple language and easy to understand structure that makes it less confusing unlike all the other books with hard challenging words that go over your head and figurative language that keeps you confused for half of the book. This book is also written in two different point of views. First it’s the author telling how he met a guy in India and he wanted to inspire him. And then he starts telling Piscine Patel’s story, and the story is from Piscine Patel’s point of view. So this makes it kind of interesting to read.
This book is also kind of makes you read more and more because you think to yourself if he would actually survive, or how will it all end? All these questions get you more into the book and make you want to read more.
In the end I’d say that I am not much of a book reading type of person, and I was able to finish this book. So I am pretty sure that it is interesting enough to get people to read it and enjoy this book.
The Life Of Pi RationaleI have chosen the book called “Life Of Pi” by Yann Martel for a couple of reasons. Firstly I chose this book because one of my cousins told me that it’s a great book by a Canadian author. I also chose this book because of how the main character of the book is in different religions in a certain point in the book and we can really relate to it living in Toronto since Toronto is a multicultural city. Another reason why I chose this book was because I like reading survival type stories. This book is all about survival. I also did some research and looked at some polls and this book has a pretty high rating, therefore I decided to choose this book. But the main reason I chose this book was because it won the 2002 Man Booker Prize, 2001 Hugh MacLennan Prize for Fiction, 2001 Governor General's Literary Awards – Fiction, and also it was nominated for Commonwealth Writers Prize For Best Book. I chose this author because he is kind of famous for winning awards for his writings such as “Self”, “Facts Behind The Helsinki Roccamatios” and “What Is Stephen Harper Reading?” I hope to finish this book as soon as possible and hope it is an interesting book that I learn a valuable lesson from.
