Morgan le Fay is a rare woman in her time -- one who doesn't depend on anyone else for her power. But that power comes out of her anger.Do you have to be angry to be powerful? If your power comes out of rage, will it hurt you, as it hurts Morgan? Or can righteous anger be a good thing?
Magic, for Morgan, is channeling the powers of the Earth through her force of will. Most modern spiritual paths, from Christianity to Buddhism, teach the opposite: giving up your own will to obey a higher power. What does magic mean to you? What about spirituality? Is there a difference between spirituality and what you believe about God?
In The Circle Cast, Morgan is offered grace. But the price is giving up her vengeance on Uther Pendragon. But her drive for vengeance is what's enabled her to survive years of slavery -- it's how she knows who she is.Is it worth losing who you are in order to be happy? Or is it more important to be who you are? And why?
