4504 Hold on now, Toni! What about Water for Elephants? The story is narrated by a man in a retirement home...He reminisces about his younger life at the circus, and it makes for a fantasic tale!

It's a best-seller. Dream big, honey! Let me know if you ever write that book :)

4504 Dear Ann,

Thanks, friend.

Lots of love back at you,
Karey
4504 Thanks, Kim. I'll write the link in full here:

4504 Lately, I've been snacking on those thin little rice crackers with tamari on them. Salty and good. Oh, and soaked almonds. (Have you tried soaking almonds for a few hours? It makes them sweet and crunchy, but in a softer way than hard almonds. Kind of wakes you up if you're in a slow part of a book. :)

4504 Lynn, Kristy and Ann:

We all speak the same language. So wonderful to read what you've all posted. So sorry I haven't been on goodreads much. I've dabbled here and there, but haven't felt very top o' the morning the past few months.

I've started an organization called the Heard World Organization, for the express purpose of exactly what you're talking about. If any of you want details, please dash off a message to me.

Here's a link to my story, and, like you, what I know a lot about: http://www.goodreads.com/topic/show/4...

Cheers, Karey

4504 Cashews or pistachio's usually. Shelled, of course.

4504 Wow. It's been a long time since I've been here. Sorry. Summer. Airplane rides to various destinations. We won't talk about the same-day roundtrip flight to Chicago from Salt Lake.

But I'm back. How was everyone's summer? What did you do?
4504 There are book review blogs and websites galore. Does anyone have any favorites? No startups sites, please. We want sites with a lot of visibility and quality reviews.

We're talking about litratchah, after all!

This thread was Jim's suggestion. Thanks, Jim.
4504 Where are you Kim? How's life?

4504 Maybe this will get you thinking. What do you know the most about? Write it out for us here, and maybe we can encourage eachother, and help each other distill it further.

No worries about anyone copying what you know. They haven't lived your life, and writing is non-proprietary. Only you can tell your story best. That's what you're here on this planet for.

4730 The best way for me to get past writer's block lately, is to get up between 4:00 a.m. (on the times my insomnia hits, which happens about every five weeks and lasts for several days) and 6:00 a.m.

Early morning. No interruptions. Clear mind. I got a lot of good writing in that way this morning.

4504 ...just had a chunk of chocolate and chatted with my husband. I don't have to do dinner tonight since he went golfing and ate out. Yay!

4504 I just talked with my sister on the phone. Now I'm ready to get back to work :O)
4504 Congratulations for earning the Ben Franklin Award for YA Fiction, Kim! That's incredible.

4504 Author 101 University was incredible. Thanks for asking. Rick Frishman and Brendon Burchard both stole the show with their incredible content and funny personalities. We were rolling in the aisles.

But at the same time, I came away having learned things I had never known before. I'm reading Brendon's novel, Life's Golden Ticket right now, and it's pretty amazing.

Rick wrote Where's Your Wow which is next on my list.

How about you? Tell me all about the awards and what it was like for you!

Smiles back at you, Kim.

4504 One day I hope to join you both, God willing ;O) Congratulations.

4504 Thanks for the additional suggestions for book awards, Kirk. And congratulations on your own successes!
I'd create the links for them, but I'm headed of to Book Expo America in a few days and have a ton to do.
