Hi folks, just letting you know the Irish Science Fiction and Fantasy Convention, Octocon, is happening this weekend. The venue is the Gibson Hotel, Dublin's Docklands, and there is also an online con which will have some of our panels streamed.

Fantasy is a fantastic read, and can be so immersive you never want to leave. But we might get you reading some SF too.
I enjoy Robin Hobb's Rain Wild and dragon keeper books.

I visited a couple of charity shops, no books I wanted. They weren't close to me in the summer when they re-opened so now I am able to travel further and I was curious... I know a lot of people did clear-outs around their homes, but the charity shops and secondhand bookstores were not open to hand in books.

Well, this won't be a family film nor lowest common denominator, but I tend not to watch many of those, so the studio is entitled to go after an audience they are not serving.

A look at what inspired the Dune director. Like him, I read the book aged young teenage. He seems to be planning on two films. Well, it's in the can. Post production moving ahead but release may be delayed due to Covid.
