This has always been my favourite Heinlein, although I've always also thought the society portrayed was one of those idealized ones that only works if everyone living in it thinks enough like the author!
The first I read for myself was The Hobbit, when I was in grade two. As I remember, it was the first book I read for myself that wasn't a school reader; my parents always read to us a lot, but with The Hobbit I got fed up with the chapter-at-bedtime approach around "Roast Mutton" and devoured the rest of the book myself.
Hi! I don't have a lot of time to take part in group reads (too much to read on my plate as it is) but I always enjoy following the discussions for things I've already read, and discovering new authors for later through them too. The classic fantasy and sf has always been some of my favourite reading so I'm looking forward to exploring your discussions further.
