45177 The Gunslinger Revised and Expanded (The Dark Tower, #1) by Stephen King STILL reading the Gunslinger but I'm quickly coming to a close. With the kid who tagged along with Roland dead; the only thing between him and the man in black is 4 feet and a camp fire. I'm eager to see how this ends.

I have no idea how influenced my peers are. I can safely say that a lot of people I've seen at school are pretty easily affected by advertising. As for me, I rarely pay any attention to advertising. From time to time I look at an ad or two but that is merely because the live video stream requires ads to continue being free. Quite frankly, I couldn't care any less about the 100% reinvented Explorer van. However, one ad that pisses me off to no end are those "Your computer is infected!" ads. They are obviously viruses and it just makes me angry that they will go to such lengths to try and scam computer-unsavvy people.

45177 Still reading the Gunslinger. However, things are wrapping up pretty quickly as he has finally met the Man in Black. Except the Gunslinger, Roland, wants answers before he thinks of killing the Main in Black.

I chose Bumped, which was a mistake in hindsight considering I hardly looked at the description. Then again, all the other books seemed boring as far as plot went.

Uniforms do more harm than good. It causes people to speak out more in a negative fashion because they can't do so in a silent manner. On top of that, kids are much more agitative while in uniforms because of their strong disagreement with the uniformity of thinking and/or lack of individualism.

45177 Still reading The Gunslinger The Gunslinger Revised and Expanded (The Dark Tower, #1) by Stephen King It's getting much more interesting. They actually show more proof that this is in fact occurring in the present even when it plays out like in the old west. I recommend anyone into fiction and/or whatever Stephen King puts out on the shelves.

45177 I'd recommend the movie 9. It's a great 3d movie that takes a turn from all the kid-oriented wish-wash. It's post apocalyptic setting where 9 inanimate figures, or 'dolls' if you'd call them that, gain life and try to seek protection from the homicidal machine that lives in a factory on the horizon. All the humans are dead or dying and they are all that's left alive.

45177 I've added two books which were "Roadside Picnic" and "Metro 2033"

45177 I'm still reading The Gunslinger: The Dark Tower I.

It's so far it's a very good book. I have started to really enjoy the story and understand the character with greater depth. He also just got done retelling his story of his first encounter with the man in black.

45177 I would probably want to sit down with Alfred Nobel. I'd like to know how he came upon the discoveries he made about explosives, chemicals, and medicine. I would probably want to eat somewhere fancy, perhaps Renaissance Cafe. After all, he is the man who established the Nobel Prize, he's probably more used to fancier food.

45177 4 of 9 correct (44%)

Never heard of it. Sounds a bit too normal for a book I'd like.

45177 The Gunslinger Revised and Expanded (The Dark Tower, #1) by Stephen King

I am currently reading The Gunslinger by Stephen King. This book is about an unnamed gunslinger who is traveling throughout the desert. Not much is actually said about the desert or where it is but it is believe that there is some sort of "Ocean of Green" beyond the desert. This must mean that they are in a very expansive desert that normally cannot be traversed without perishing. I do know, however, that it must be relatively close to the present as they did mention a Beatles song. Anyways, the gunslinger is hunting down the elusive "Man in Black," who is some sort of man with unknown powers.

45177 I guess I do enjoy reading books. The only problem is no one seems to write the kind of books I like. That or they aren't well advertised. I usually enjoy sci-fi, modern fiction, or historical fiction. However, most of the sci-fi, modern fiction and historical fiction is just slow-paced political or personal stories. I want fiction of army operations or military organizations, not struggling families.
