45177 I'm still reading The true adventures of Charley Darwin. The True Adventures of Charley Darwin by Carolyn Meyer I am currently a little over half way done and the story is getting a little boring. I hope I can finish this book and start my second one by the end of the month but I don't see that happening.

I would say that kids my age are very influenced by advertising because of all the tobacco ads in magazines and the beer and alcohol ads on TV. I feel I'm the same way as the rest of my peers. The things that get my peers' attention and gets them to buy something is probably hot women for the guys and hot guys for the ladies. Also, the funnier the commercial is, the more a teenager wants that product or at least pays attention to the commercial.

"The Silken East VI: A Record Of Life And Travel In Burma"
It sounds like the worst book in the history of bad books so no, I would never read it.

45177 I am reading "The True Adventures of Charley Darwin." This story is about Charles Darwin's life before his voyagee on the HMS Beagle. He is currently 12 years old in the book and hating his life at Shrewsberry School, a boarding school in his home town. In his free time, Darwin searches for specimens to add to his collection or does chemistry experiments with his brother.

I chose "The Wreckage."

I feel that SRRHS would never go to school uniforms because the students already got a taste of freedom, so to speak. Personally, I don't like the idea of scool uniforms because I like the freedom of wearing whatever you want.

45177 Well, I am at the same spot as I was on the week 3 update because of the fact that I'm doing both at the same time. I will add that I would recommend this book to anyone interested in how Darwin's life was and his life on the HMS Beagle, but they must be aware that the book is historical fiction.

45177 My favorite movie would have to be the Die Hard movies. I love action movies and I've seen those ones about a hundred times each. I would recommend these movies to anyone that likes action movies.

45177 I think I would have Billy the Kid over for dinner. I think it would be interesting to hear about his life and how he got away with everything. We would probably talk about how different his time was compared to mine. I'm guessing we would probably go to McDonald's or something like that and get a burger. I'm sure he never had a fast food hamburger.

45177 The only way I enjoy reading is if I have a really good book in front of me. I can't sit down and read a book that doesn't interest me, which is why I do so bad when it comes to books for class.
I know for a fact that I used to love reading, but I think that changed when I got into like 4th or 5th Grade, probably because the excitement of learning how to read in Kindergarten just outgrew itself. To be honest, I would much rather be outside doing something than be inside reading, and I don't see that changing anytime in the near future.

45177 First and foremost, I think I should apologize for the tardiness of my post.
Shiloh by Phyllis Reynolds Naylor
My favorite book of all time is actually not one book, but a whole series. The Shiloh series is written by Phyllis Reynolds Naylor. These books are about a boy that finds a dog which he names Shiloh. Shiloh actually belongs to Judd Travers, who is a very mean and nasty person whom nobody likes. The three books are telling the story of how Judd keeps trying to get Shiloh back, but every time he tries to, Shiloh always ends up leaving Judd in one way or another.
The reason I like this series is the fact that the author has developed a way to make the reader feel like they are a part of the story and actually a character in the novel.
