"Whoops, sorry Saffy. Did you see the new Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher? She looks nice," Mal said. As soon as she had finished her sentence she began eyeing a chocolate eclair. "Eh, what the heck," she said, and grabbed the eclair. Munching on it thoughtfully, she looked back at Saffy. "So, what classes are you taking this year?"

((sorry mal disappeared! been busy. btw- how long is this set after Harry's time? is mgonagall (sp?) still there? or all new teachers?))
Mal sat at the Ravenclaw table as she finished off her chocolate ecliar and chatted with some friends before the announcements began. She scanned the teacher's table quickly, then did a double take.
"Look!" she said and quickly jabbed Saffy, who was sitting next to her, in the shoulder.

She is way awesome. I love her dress for Slughorn's Christmas party!

Sorry to go back up to the top (haha- I see it as my mission to comment on each of these character discussions) but I was cracking up at the "nice skin" part too. So now I have commented :)

Fred was probably the person I was most sad about having killed off. BTW- why doesn't Peeves have his own section? JK :)

I vote redvines. And how they showed her in the movie was really weird.

"Well, bleh. If you guys can get out of it, I'll see what I can do at breakfast tomorrow when we get our schedules. I'd much rather have a free period. But then I'd have done the essay for nothing!"

Mal looked relieved as the dragon left. Her usual bouncy energy returned and she began rambling about classes. "Does anyone know who the Defense Against the Dark Arts teacher is this year? Did any of you have trouble writing the Herbology essay? That Transfiguration essay was super long! I had to do so much research! And Potions!" she laughed. "But anyway, somehow I'm still stuck with Divination so I had to make up a load of junk for the prompt." Mal laughed again, then quoted. "'Describe the notions of the future you experienced over the summer and how your inner eye conveyed them to you. What medium did your inner eye use to show you these pictures? Describe your location, feeling, companions, and equiptment when you recieved such notions.' Galloping gargoyles,it was boring!"

"Whoa..." Mal started. She inched slowly away from Sizzle, looking slightly anxious. "Uhh...nice to meet you? Sorry, but me + fire = bad idea." She managed to cram herself in an opposite corner and her face returned to its normal cheery smile.

The compartment door suddenly banged open. A small figure with a massive halo of red curls toppeled into the already crowded space, breathing heavily.
"...Riot...candy...cart..." Mal panted. "...I got run over... idiot first years... The first minute they get away from their parents, they try to buy out the candy supply!" Pushing herself onto her knees, she negoitated herself through the tangle of legs and animals to the door and stuck her nose out. Her eye's widened at the sight, and she hastily slammed the door. After her breathing returned to normal, she sat back onto her knees. "So," she said conversationally. "I'm Mal."
