I swear I live in another dimension! I was so proud of myself for picking up from the library the first book in this series to read this month so that I would be right there with the group from the beginning. The problem:
Murphy lives with me. All the time, every year. You could call him my best friend.
After I started reading my Karin Slaughter book I realized my mistake. I'm reading Triptych, the book for March instead of Blindsided, the book for now.
I don't suppose I could convince the entire group to completely rearrange their entire reading schedule for the next year just so I didn't need to continue with the fact that Murphy lives with me. You know, Murphy says if anything could go wrong it will.
Not doing? I didn't think so. (Laughs and smiles)
As I stated on a note here a few months ago, I was so glad to learn about this group, and that everyone agreed to restart the series recently. I'm still behind but catching up (I started Witness In Death, #10) tonight, and can't wait to see what happens. Someone who loves this series told me the books would get better as they went on, and I agree.
I'm almost embarrassed to write this, but I keep a small notebook where I can write brief notes about each book. It includes my favorite quotes, the little and humorous moments between Eve and Roarke, a list of each character and a little about their involvement in each book, etc. After all, when I'm asked questions about the series like which ones are my favorite I don't have to remember all 40+.
My problem now, what in the heck am I going to do in February when the newest comes out? I don't want to move ahead and miss all the character development in between, but it's going to kill me knowing that bunches of you are going to be reading Echoes in Death without me! Lol
Renegade, JonettaThank you so much! It took a couple months to try to figure out GR & feel ok to give opinion, and this group is the one (once I figured out what & how to find groups), that I immediately fell in love without!
I see them both, at least being in the early books (#7 right now) so I know anything could change, as two people who have no idea how to love. I live by my heart in a history book, but these are two people who have no idea how to love. Books will explain that better. It's like they have to teach each other in their own ways while keeping the better parts of what can be negative ( Eve's huge wall-perfect for a cop, & Roarke's over confidence-helps much in the business world). Despite everything I see both of them with enormous hearts. My take.
Seems since I joined Goodreads I want to read the series or book of month you're on, but am several behind. This time I did get to read The Surgeon this month & loved, so I'll be month behind again, but maybe catch up before everyone is discussing #3. Sounds exciting!
Really pleased with this book, and the way their love for each other helps Eve and Roarke stand up for the other when they need to. My favorite scenes have already been mentioned.Currently started Ceremony in Death.
Keep reading all
Kim
Took me some time to leave a comment here(sorry). After I had a stroke several years ago, my librarian sent me a digital player as a way to help me concentrate again. She would also suggest authors and that's when J. D. Robb came into my life. I loved the series, especially the love between Eve & Roarke, as well as their badass behavior. Although I am behind in the retread process in this group, I'm excited to have found you all and to be working to catch up!
