I love these quotes. Now who gets to decide who gets eliminated? Do you remember an exercise in school that went something like: there was only enough room in the bomb shelter for 5 people, and there were 10 to pick from.
Andre wrote: "Sorry, feeling quite grim about politics these days. The morons and assholes are out in droves, screeching and moaning..."I'll bet we can all agree with that. I'm not impressed by politicians on either side right now.
Questions for supporters of global warming:Do you drive a car?
Do you have a computer? A television? A cell phone?
Do you buy clothes at stores?
Do you buy food at grocery stores?
Have you flown on an aircraft?
Do you work for a company or corporation?
If you answer yes to any of these, then you are full-fledged supporters of capitalism and support buying products produced with and transported by oil and carbon-producing engines.
It is easy to say you are against something, but a bit absurd when your actions prove otherwise.
The truth is that you will find roughly the same number of people on both sides of this issue. Those who believe it always point to the CO2 emissions. To me, that is nothing more than another way for liberals to attack corporations. The pro-global warming crowd is happy to have a made-up crisis to use to blame on the "evil corporations."It is humorous how the pro crowd initially used "global warming" and now have mostly switched to "climate change". The force of your terminology is weakening in the face of less and less data to support this farce.

Scam. I don't think we humans are as consequential as we believe. I must admit that part of my feelings about this comes from my distrust of almost all politicians, on both sides. I don't believe that any of them are sincere or knowledgeable.
Andre Jute wrote: "Well, we'll have to find something more reliable than the BBC, which disgraced their its tradition by making it policy to proselytize for global warming instead of questioning it as news management..."I agree. I think it's all a big scam by scientists and politicians, who, if they were smart enough, would be working for corporations instead.

Thanks, I learned something new!

Actually, trying to get along with people is not "throne sniffing," and frankly, thrones are not what stink about your recent posts.
I waited a few days before replying here. Ken, there are no shortcuts to getting published. No one has an easy time getting an agent, and as for self publishing ebooks, well, that takes work. I'm learning more about it every day, and I value every sale I get. I'm seeing my numbers go from single digits to double digits each month. No one is doing that for me, but I don't expect them to. You mentioned that your book is "polished", and I thought the same thing about mine. It is only now, after several months and many revisions by myself and others, that it is starting to shine a bit.I do wonder what you will say when you get your first bad review. I've had them too, and looking back, they were quite accurate and led to more revision and polishing.

I am also working hard on my horror blog: http://baddreamsgranger.blogspot.com/
I am having fun with my blog: http://anabarauthor.blogspot.com/ because I think it gives me a place to write what I want to and because it is helping me establish at least a little bit of a presence on the web. I'm not really sure what to do to attract more followers. Maybe something controversial. I've tried, but I don't really get Facebook. Twitter is easier to operate, and I'm glad it limits me to 140 characters.
I teach at a high school and every class has a few kids who could have written these reviews. They love the lame excuse that reading is boring. Most students at my school plan to go to college, and I usually point out that they will be reading much more at the university level. I realize that is me just being argumentative, and I love it when I get them to read something that they end up really liking. For example, my advanced students loved the first half of On Writing by Stephen King. I think one of the very best things I can do for my students is help them enjoy reading.
I was interviewed for the Work-At-Home-Success website. I talk about on my blog here: http://anabarauthor.blogspot.com/The interview is at this link: http://workathomesuccess.com/wahs-pod...
Promoting is almost a full-time job.
I wrote Vampire Truths to show my view of what life would be like as a vampire and, I admit, as a response to the wimpy Twilight version we see today.
Alain,Creating a Q&A group or a blog are legitimate ways to promote yourself and your books. No one else will promote your stuff in this new ebook business - we are all trying to find the best way to get our books read.
As for pissing people off, I think you have to write what you want to. I never hold back because I think I might piss someone off. In fact, I sort of like it when my family looks at me a bit strange when they read my stories or when I tell them about some of my ideas. I can't imagine trying to make it as a writer without being honest. I don't expect everyone to like my stories.
