Goodreads is planning to end the ability of members to include external links AND the ability to message individuals directly, ie direct messages or private messages (DM/PM) .

This will impact group mods, authors and readers in a variety of ways:

-Prevents Moderators from coordinating with co-mods
-Mods won't be able to contact members whose post is in the wrong place or has an error.
-Mods won't be able to privately address member concerns.
-Prevents Members from contacting Mods.
-Prevents easy reporting of violations or problems to Group Mods.
-Prevents people from forming Buddy reading groups.
-Prevent readers from contacting authors about their stories.
-May cause group threads and discussions to become more scattered between social communication and reading communication.

Please, take a moment to sign a petition against this change, in the hope we can make GR/Amazon see that this is an unpopular destructive move for the reading community on this platform:
