I saw this last night as well and loved it! I totally forgot Jennifer Ehle was in it until the credits came on. I wish they had cast her as Colin's wife instead for all of us P&P fans. That would have been a lovely thing!

I'm in Plymouth, Michigan. It's pretty much between Detroit & Ann Arbor and has a very cute little downtown!

I'm Lizzie Bennet & my man is Fitzwilliam Darcy! No wonder that's my favorite book. haha

I think it's interesting how Colin Firth became a heartthrob after P&P and has had quite a career however Jennifer Ehle has been pretty much under the radar. Maybe if they had starred in P&P w/Zombies back in 1995 maybe she would have received more attention since, presumably, there would have been more men in the theatre.

Thoughts?

I thought it was interesting someone (I don't remember who) played Beethoven's Op.53 on the piano. According to Wikipedia, Emma was published 1815 and Beethoven finished this sonata in 1804. I can't imagine it would have been circulating in her town while JA was writing her novel. The musician in me wonders about that choice of music in this film

I love Robert Downey! We were going to see Sherlock tomorrow (we always go to the movies on 12/25) but we're going to see It's Complicated instead. I also want to see The Young Victoria.

I'm currently watching Cranford, a fun little costume drama from the BBC. They put out great costume dramas!

I am Amber and I have been following this group but haven't introduced myself. I'm 32 in Plymouth, MI. I think I first read P&P in college and it remains my favorite. I haven't read them all but I think it's funny how I can't reread P&P without picturing Colin Firth as Mr. Darcy or reread S&S without picturing Kate Winslet and Hugh Grant in their respective characters. Great stuff!

Are you in SAI? I was in that during my undergrad at Michigan State, percussion performance. Do you play or sing?
