50x66 How about American culture--or cross sections of American culture? I just read Leslie Marmon Silko's Ceremony. The novel focuses on the issues American Indian veterans face.

Also, Kristof's Half The Sky is a good nonfiction one to add to the India book list. : )

50x66 The Social Animal is my brain candy. : ) Lots of fun facts.

50x66 To their defense, I find it painful to repeatedly read an 6-8 page paper. I couldn't imagine trying to find errors in a somehundred page book! : )

50x66 'pseudo-struggle'^^

I think that feeling is common. I'm reading The Social Animal: The Hidden Sources of Love, Character, and Achievement right now, and I feel myself wanting to finish the chapters discussing adolescence so that I can move on to the rest of the book.

I want to hear about the character's young adult experiences (the stage most pertinent to me)! : ) So, perfectly normal.

50x66 How do you feel when you find a typo in a book?

50x66 I'll probably read books in this order The Social Animal (by David Brooks), Signing Their Lives Away (by Denise Kiernan and Joseph D'Agnese), Walden (by Henry David Thoreau), and maybe The Fountainhead (by Ayn Rand).
