I recently read a book (fiction) about a woman who travels for work and ends up having a one week stand with a man who uses the name of another man. When she returns home she sees on the news that the man she thought she was with has been accused of killing his wife and daughter. The woman pretends to have been friends with the man's wife to figure out what is going on.
Details I remember
-the daughter and or wife were found in the bathtub, electocution had something to do with it
-the woman who was killed kept a diary
-the daughter was difficult/ had issues about the dark

I'm trying to remember the title of a book I read in the 80s perhaps the 70s.
It's a fictional story about a plane crash in the jungle. The story is about how they try to get back to civilization. The main character is a rock star or some kind of celebrity. His teenage son who suffers from acne is with him. There are several other survivors. I vaguely remember an unfortunate encounter with a snake, possibly another one with quick sand. Surprise, it didn't win any awards.
I'm reading another book and it made me think of this book which I hadn't thought of in years. I know it's a bit anal but it drives me crazy when I can't remember the title of a book. Thanks!
