Hi Ayelet - I am writing from beautiful (rainy today) Maine, where I live! I am from away myself (New Hampshire, which my Mainer husband grudgingly says isn't SO bad, if I have to be from somewhere else...), but I've been here about 10 years now.

I just wanted to tell you that I read "Red Hook Road" last summer after hearing you on The Diane Rehm Show. I had JUST had a baby, and I devoured the book in about two afternoons, mostly as I was marathon nursing/holding a napping baby on the couch. I could not stop reading! It is a completely gorgeous, devastating book, and I just wanted to thank you for it. In fact, all this talk about it makes me want to read it again.

My other comment is that it's a good thing the baby was 1) already named, and 2) a boy, because I really started to dig on the name Ayelet for a girl!
