Smaaraka Silakal - No doubt in that.
Not sure the recommendation is now relevant or not. "Aathi" by Sarah Joseph tells the story a lake and it's very interesting one.
@robin Kappithante bharya would be a nice choice. Easy aayi vaayich pokavunna oru cheriya novel
