Randamoozham is a favorite for many (me included). Like someone I knew wrote in a review, the greatest pleasure you can have about reading is to discover new aspects about the book from others who have read it. Why not a discussion about Randamoozham itself ? There have been numerous ones on Mahabharata but what makes this work stand out ? What do you think ?
;)Jokes apart, we have become very low on activity in this community.

Manu wrote: "I havent read that, but i ve read his stories delhi kadhakal.Dnd undrstnd sme stories"Honestly, I could not come to grips with Madhavikutty's works. The most apt word in malayalam is 'durgraahyatha' for my feeling about her works. One thing is for sure, with a very easily accessible vocabulary she created her literaty worlds.

DC Books recently released a collection of all his short stories. Quite a hefty tome.

Yet there have been memorable works that have come in recently & like Manu I have this belief that they excel in short stories. Recently went through Subhash Chandran's 'Manushyanu oru aamukham' and it definitely was a refreshing one.
Reading through the posts something I saw was that we are still talking about the doyens (M.T, S.K.Pottekadu, Sara Joseph etc..). Has anyone tried the relatively newer authors : Subhash Chandran, Unni, Santhosh Echikkanam to name a few ?

ആധുനികത എന്ന പേരില് എഴുതുന്നവര്ക്കും വായിക്കുന്നവര്ക്കും ഒന്നും മനസിലാവാത്ത കുറെ സാധനങ്ങള് ;)
Talking about fictional history and storytelling, has anyone tried U.A.Khader's Thrikkottoor Peruma ?

?"Have read it. The language is old school but otherwise a fresh look at the Mahabharata from Karna's view point. However, I did feel that the Malayalam translation of Sivaji Savanth's Mrityunjaya (Karnan) was a more approachable and appealing version.
@Sreekanth : I agree on that part about Malayatoor. Yakshi is also one book that I have found extremely entertaining.
@Manu : Dharmapuranam was Vijayan's angst at the emergency period although all of it was represented in paraphiliac and sexually perverse ways. There is a small collection of his short stories named Kadaltheerathu which I found very good. And so was Gurusagaram a brilliant one. O.V. Vijayan has a way of weaving images with words which sets him apart from most other authors in Malayalam.
Equal parts frustration and admiration have been the hallmark of O.V.Vijayan's 'Khasakinte Ithihasam' which is my pick for a must read.
