Oooh yes I'm with you on that one Laetitia, most intriguing ..."Right.. I don't know anything about it besides the title and Author and i am completely sold.

I think The Adventure of the Christmas Pudding by Agatha Christie would be really fun. Classic Christmas mystery book

Oh I love this, I've read it a few times and I think enjoy it more every time. I think I'm going to cheat a bit this month and actually read the Austen project version.

Kristen wrote: "Hey Everyone! I just started this after reading Rebecca for the first time.. OMG amazing was that one. Anyway, I started Frankenstein a little bit yesterday.. it seems to have a slow start. I'm ass..."Yeah I found the fist 30% or so very slow, but ended up really enjoying it.
Pamera - I agree, I think that the characters were definitely the strongest part about the novel.

Fahrenheit 451 I'd definitely be interested in, also really keen to read brave new world before the end of the year, so would be really cool to have others reading also to be able to discuss.
Kristen wrote: "I find the book so intriguing overall. After this reading, I really started to contemplate how reliable Humbert Humbert really is as a narrator? Did these things really happen, or is it part of his..."I think that most of the events themselves happened, but the way Humbert thinks about them and in turn invites the reader to interpret them is unreliable.
For example,
(view spoiler)[ when he talks about how Lolita ended up seducing him in the hotel, objectively a 12 year old child does not seduce a grown man. However when reading it is written in such a way that Lolita feels like the instigator of this.
The only thing I can't make up my mind on, is the death of Mrs Haze, the running out into traffic right after finding out about Humbert seems very convenient, and I wonder if perhaps he did push her.
It's certainly a very interesting aspect of the book I could definitely be convinced that he is an unreliable narrator. (hide spoiler)]
Marta wrote: "I'm loving the writing but i've already read some scenes that have made me feel uncomfortable"Yes there were definitely some super uncomfortable parts. But overall I really enjoyed it ended up giving it 4 stars.
Such a good exploration of obsession.

Started this last night, so far really enjoying it. So well written.
Randa wrote: "I love spooky classics for Halloween. Frankenstein would be great. Or even Edgar Allen Poe. What about The Haunting of Hill House?"Oh Some Poe would be great, I've never read any

This will be my first time reading it, and very glad to have a reason to read. I have wanted to for ages, but I'm very much a mood reader, and it's not really the kind of book I'm ever in the mood for. Looking forward to discussing this.

oh totally down for a spooky classic for Halloween, Frankenstein is one I've been meaning to do for a while.

I'm really sad, I was really underwhelmed by Alice in Wonderland. I was really expecting to love it, I haven't read it since i was like 7 or 8 and I remember enjoying it then. I also love Alice adaptions. But I just found it too episodic, and nonsensical. There are definitely lines, and scenes I loved, but overall i felt it lacked.

I'm keen to read tenant of wildfell hall, I've never read any of Anne Bronte, Lolita is also still on my list.
Deanna wrote: "Yes those were my thoughts too. Perhaps even a marriage at some point in his past. Seems all possible/likely... Hope your all enjoying the book."Oh I had not though about a marriage but yes seems very possible
Deanna wrote: "Does anyone want to speculate on how Mr. Heathcliff made his fortune? I have thought about it whenever I have read the book. Based on his character I rarely think it's anything very upstanding. Per..."I have always presumed it was through
(view spoiler)[The same way he acquires Wuthering Heights, through gambling and exploiting others weaknesses. . (hide spoiler)]

Oh I haven't read Heidi in over 20 years would love to re-read, the railway children was my favorite children's classic as a child.
Em wrote: "I would suggest We Have Always Lived in the Castle (a shorter work of Daphne du Maurier, of whom I'm a big fan after Rebecca), Lolita, or The Collector by John Fowles. The latter two are for purely..."I would love to read some more of Daphne du Maurier Rebecca is easily in my top 5 of the year so far. Also keep meaning to read Lolita and keep not lol

I'm still pretty keen on The Lady of the Camellias, it sounded great. Also my friend just read North and South and now I'm really keen to read that.

I read this in February so probably wont re read this month.. you never know though it is a favorite! But am really interested to see what people think of it.
