Spoiler below.Yeah, Meg was the best part about the book. Even though she's a killer, she had least had a damn good reason. Still a psycho though, because she enjoyed their pain. But I understand why.
Jack was, as Beard said, just a predator with serious mother issues. The fork caught me off guard, though I honestly didn't think they would bang, as it didn't fit where the story was going. But I didn't expect it to kick off so soon.
Great book, gave it a five star because I liked the backstory, the build-up, the chase and the conclusion.

Nah, not reaching. I got that also. It was subtle, but there. Very cleverly done in my opinion.
Just finished the book. Couldn't stop, was way too good. Gonna read through all the comments and reply as they come in.
Stopping at 18%.SPOILER BELOW I THINK
I really like how messed up it is. Beard, you're right about how he sees that girl in the moment. Cause it shows just how much his mom messed him up. Also, totally agree with E that the mom not being religious was a breath for fresh air. Even though it was an obvious attempt at being a breath of fresh air, it worked.

Edward wrote: "I remember that game! I must've clocked 100+ hours playing it back in the day. I just reached book two and the ring is about to head south. Where's everyone else at? Probably almost done, huh lol"I just started book two as well. 22 pages in.
I'm on chapter 8. Interesting but underwhelming. But I don't want to stop, which is unusual for me. I wish there was less talking. I think if I were reading it I'd have bowed out by now.
There is an awful lot of talking, and little action. But I'm to the point in the book that is new to me so I'm enjoying it. Hope the book picks up for you, E.
