Have you ever read that book that hooked you with a great first line? I know I have. There are so many amazing first lines out there.
"It was the best of times, it was the worst of times..." (A Tale of Two Cities)
"Call me Ishmael." (Moby-Dick)
"Mr. and Mrs. Dursley, of number four, Privet Drive, were proud to say that they were perfectly normal, thank you very much." (Harry Potter and the Sorcerer's Stone)
What is your favorite book with a great first line?

It's that time of the year. The snow is falling, which means that it's the perfect time to cozy up with a good book!
What are you reading?

I'm reading "The Chase" by DiAnn Mills. It's pretty good so far.
May wrote: "Just starting The Immortal Life of Henrietta Lacks by Rebecca Skloot."I've heard such great things about this book, but I've never actually read it.

There's a chill in the air. It's the perfect time of the year to curl up by the fire with a good book!
What are you reading?

When I was little, my parents took me to the library all the time. I always thought that the library was this magical place that allowed me to read more and more stories because they let me check out all these fantastic books that I would never have had the chance to read otherwise. (And it still is!) Even now, as an adult, I love visiting the library and checking books out, both as regular paper books and as e-books online.
What is the last book you checked out from your library? (E-books that you checked out count, too!)

The leaves are changing. The weather is (kind-of) cooling down. It's perfect reading weather!
What are you reading?

You've all know about "those" books. You know, the books that "everyone" has read. I've read a bunch of books because it just seemed like everyone was reading them and there had to be something about that book that made it so good.
There is always one out there. Several years ago, it was "Twilight". A few years ago, it was "The Hunger Games". This year it seems like it is "The Girl on the Train".
So what is the book that "everyone" has read that you enjoyed?

It's October! Fall is in the air and it's perfect reading outside weather. So what do you read when it's like this? Spooky and scary? Light and fluffy? The classics?
What are you reading?

I don't know about you, but there are certain types of books that, no matter how good they are, always put me to sleep. In my case, it's a lot of the classics. "The Grapes of Wrath", for example. I cannot start reading it without suddenly becoming super-sleepy.
What about you? Is there a book that tends to make you fall asleep?

I just finished reading the first book in a inspirational series by Ronie Kendig called "Nightshade." I really enjoyed it and immediately dove into the sequel called "Digitalis," which I am really enjoying. Well, all 2.5 chapters that I have read thus far. (Sleep had to win out over reading eventually.)

It's September! School is back in session. The weather is finally starting to cool off. Football season is starting. It's time for all things pumpkin spice. You know what it's also a good time for? Reading!
So what you are reading this month?

I don't know about you, but my list of "To Be Read" book is about a mile long and some of those books have fallen to the bottom of my list and have been on that list for a long time. It's not that there is anything wrong with them. The problem is that there are so many amazing books out there and only so many hours in the day.
What is a book that has fallen to the bottom of your "To Be Read" list"?

Granted, pretty much every kind of weather makes me want to read a book: Rain, snow, sleet, or ..."At the moment, I'm re-reading a book called Ink and Bone by Rachel Caine. It's YA Fantasy and the most basic gist of the story is what the world might be like if the Great Library at Alexandria hadn't been destroyed. The sequel came out last month and I am excited to read it, but I feel like I need to re-read the first book so I clearly remember what is going on for the second book. Does anyone else ever feel like that?

It's hot outside! I don't know about you, but that makes me want to stay inside and read a good book. Granted, pretty much every kind of weather makes me want to read a book: Rain, snow, sleet, or sunshine. It's all good reading weather.
So what are you reading right now?

We've all heard the saying, "Don't judge a book by its cover." Well, I can honestly admit that I have read so many books simply because I decided that the cover of the book was amazing. In some cases the book was fabulous. In others, the book was pretty bad. I've also had some books that I decided that I wasn't going to read because the cover was really boring, but then a friend would tell me more about the book and I would read it and love it.
So what is a book that you judged by the cover? Did the story live up to the cover?

We are solidly into summer and the weather is showing it! I don't know about you, but when the weather gets hot like this, I like to stay inside where it is nice and cool with a good book!
So what about you? What are you reading?

I know that I always love to discover a new author that I have never read before. It's like meeting a new friend because I want to get to know their books.
So what is a new author that you have read recently? Did you love their books? Hate them? Let us know!

Have you come across a new author? A new genre? A plot twist you haven't read before? A new beach read for the summer? Tell us what you are reading!

I know that we've all had this happen: everyone is talking about a book that they thought was amazing, but you just didn't like it. So what is a book that someone else loved, but you hated?
For me, I would have to say that my husband loves the Temeraire books, so I decided that I was going to give them a try because he told me how amazing they were. I couldn't even get through the first book. It just wasn't my style and it bored me. I totally understood why my husband loves them, though.
