Wow 379 in line, you'd still be waiting next year! 😳I think I can borrow ebooks from the library but to be perfectly honest I don't know how and I've never asked, perhaps that would be a good thing to find out when I'm next there!
I love my kindle, you're right it's so much easier to just pop into your bag and pick up anywhere. Although my last two books were borrowed paperbacks from friends.
I think I'm going to leave my target as it is for now and then see at what point I meet it and what would be realistic to increase it to
Ive read 22 already so I don't think I set it high enough! I do try to use my library as much as possible to, but I must admit sometimes I'm too impatient and get them on my kindle
Haha, I've made it sound all restful and relaxed haven't I?! We work at least 12 hour days when we're away, so by the time you finish at 8 all you want to do is grab something to eat and get into bed to read for a bit. Or go to the bar, which I never do, honest ☺️ 😆
Yeah but we all have different stuff going on with families and work that dictate how much reading time we get, so no need to be embarrassed about how much we read or don't read! I have to spend time away from home for work so it's easy to get through a book when you don't have to cook or do housework for a week, even if I'd rather be home than in a hotel! X
I know this group has been a bit neglected by us all recently, shall we try and get it going a bit more with our 2018 reading challenges? I've gone for 52, or one a week! Wish me luck! :)
I dont think I'll do all of them but there's a few more I like the sound of, I think after the lesser bohemians I'll try Little Deaths. You never know I might end up reading them all but I've not set myself a goal to do it so we'll see!
I'm carrying on with the Baileys prize list, just read the Essex serpent, next up is the lesser bohemians!
So.. Resurrecting a very old thread (I no longer have any shame about the hunger games films btw, I love them!)Has anyone read Wonder by RJ Palacio? If not, it's a great book although I sobbed my eyes out reading it. Anyway it's been made into a film which I can't wait to see, although I'm a little disappointed with the casting. I also really want to see the girl with all the gifts, which I will as soon as I figure out how to download Kodi! :)
Yes I get that Fiona, I just finished today and it made me quite uncomfortable at times, the thought that women would then treat men just as they had been treated previously. I think we don't empathise or care about the characters much because none of them seemed to care or empathise for anyone? It's definitely thought provoking and I imagine provokes strong reactions in most people, I felt quite angry at parts of the book
No, not a single one! Probably because unless I specifically ask for it people buy me books that I've already read :)I didn't know there was a labyrinth book either, I may have to treat myself to that one x
I'm sorry you had such a tough year, hope 2016 is a much better year for you. What's your name on Instagram? I hadn't thought to put books I'm reading on there, that's a good idea and I shall have a look at your recommendations x
Happy 2016 to you too! I need to set this years reading challenge! No we stopped doing group reads because very few people joined in. I love the LOTR trilogy and Caitlin Moran so hope you both enjoy your reading :)
The taxidermist's daughter also finished having found it in the library. One and a half to go! I think I need to buy The hitchhikers guide as someone else had booked it in the library so had to take it back before I'd finished but I have the miniaturist I bought waiting to get back into. I only read the first chapter so am hoping it grabs me, everyone does seem to love it so am sure it will.
Two and a half to go! I might swap the Miniaturist if I can't get into it but will give it another try first.
