There are some good Aussie authors writing sci-fi/fantasy books at the moment. One of my faves is Garth Nix, with his Abhorsen series, Keys to the Kingdom series, and Seventh Tower. I’d recommend them all. I met him at the Edinburgh Book festival a few years back, too. He’s a fun speaker, so catch him live if you can!
