Thanks, Sue. It could really be that simple, I think."

I think it possibly could be this simple as well :)

I am the same way about not wanting anything revealed to me. I have learned not even to read the jacket cover, because it usually tells me much more than I want to know. Therefore, the way I pick a book is using a combination of 3 criteria:
1. Recommended by someone who has a similar taste in books
2. the cover
3. reading the first page instead of the jacket cover.
For me, the thing that keeps me reading is not knowing what is going to happen. That is also why I have a hard time seeing a movie before reading the book. I never have the motivation to read the book after seeing the movie since I basically know what is going to happen.

Thanks Kitty, but actually, I have a Nook. I think I can get a free or 99 cent version on there- I will have to check. Looking forward to finally getting through this book. :)

Thanks Bill. I just found on goodreads under the Penguin classics series edition that there is a link that say read now- I went to it and it pulls up the book. I just am unable to tell if it is the full book or an abridged version.

54797 Just found and joined this group today. I have never made it completely through Moby Dick, so I am giving it one last try. Hopefully, I will make the full journey and not be added to the poor unfortunate souls "buried at sea."
Now, I just need to obtain a copy before the end of the week.
