54907 In a court law I think E and Noodles should be punished equally. For example, no one is going to care whether or not one person was stealing for a better reason. They both stole and it was not the right thing to do. They both made a super bad decision and need to be punished for it. Another example is that E could have gotten money another way, a legal way. Instead, he choose to steal from people. He took advantage because Ona told E that people did not lock their doors. E should not get punished for destroying Ona's house because it was not his doing.

54907 I think that there is realism in the film because of the racism. Tony and Maria were in different gangs/different race. The gangs hated each other and because of that, Maria and Tony's love wasn't accepted. Things like this also happens in real life. For example, people might hate other people because they are a different race or because they aren't rich. I can relate to some of the conflicts in this film. I have grown apart from some of my friends from my old school. I miss them because we shared some deep memories. I can also relate to unfair judgments and racism. Some people judge people by their skin color or how they dress and automatically think they are weird or crazy.

54907 My character, Johnny, fights because of loyalty. For Johnny, the gang is basically his family. Since his parents did not care for him, he treats his close friends just like family. For example, Johnny killed Bob, the Soc, to protect Ponyboy who was being drowned. This shows that Johnny is loyal to his friend and is willing to kill someone just to save them. This also shows a lot from Johnny because he was described as the boy who wouldn't even hurt a fly. Another example is when Johnny told Dally and Ponyboy that he decided do turn himself in. This shows that Johnny does not want to bring Ponyboy down since he is innocent as was not involved in the killing. By doing this, it also affects the rest of the gang in a good way. Darry and Sodapop can can rest knowing that Ponyboy is safe. The rest of the greasers is safe from the Socs because they were getting beaten up for killing their friend.

54907 The poem "Neighbors" relates to the book The Outsiders the most. "That side's you/ this side's me." This poem also talks about a fence that separates people on the other side. The fence divides the east and west side. To the greasers, the other side would be the Socs. The greasers and the Socs are different groups because of their traits and how they live. Socs have a lot of money, have bigger houses, better looks, and better everything. Greasers have less money, has poor education and don't have the good looks. This separates and shows the differences between these two groups. They are not able to get along and communicate well.

54907 I agree with Cherry's statement because I think that everyone has have struggles in their lives before. Being a different race and having more money than others doesn't mean that they wouldn't have problems either. I think that many of the greasers would think that the Socs in general have everything they need because they are high class. Cherry could have problems keeping up to the Socs standards because everyone expect so much from her. She can't be seen with greasers because she is "better" than them.

54907 Cicero once said, "We were born to unite with our fellow men, and to join in community with the human race." I definitely agree with this quote. This quote is basically saying that us humans form communities and unite with everyone. We all find a way to be kind and help each other out. And although we may not all have the same interest as others, we are still very much alike.

An example would be from a TV show "Rizzoli & Isles" or "Castle". They share a common interest which is to catch killers from killing more innocent people. By doing this, they are helping others feel more safer living in a particular neighborhood. They are helping making a better community for everyone.

54907 I finished reading a article http://www.nytimes.com/2011/12/21/nyr.... I was written by Matt Flegenheimer to inform other people about what happened during the plane crash. The audience that the writer was addressing is the people who likes to know about what is going out in the world and families who have relatives in New Jersey. The writer provided fair information about the crash. He interviewed many people about what they thought about the accident, but what they said was not bias at all. Therefore there were no biases statements throughout the entire article. I think that the writer did a good job with keeping his opinions away from the article.

54907 The article "Sorry I'm Not a Stereotype" applies with Absolutely True Diary because Arnold is like the person in the article "Sorry I'm not a Stereotype". They both are different from everyone else and other people think that they shouldn't be here because of that. Most people believe in the stereotypes and think that it is okay to make fun of them and make false assumptions.

Arnold's perspective is different from the author because Arnold is a person that loves to learn new things. Also, other people think Indians are really dumb and stupid, but it is not true. The author reads to live. She doesn't have the same experience that Arnold had in school. This is why I think Arnold's life is different from the author.

54907 I think that Arnold told Rowdy he would die if he stays because he hasn't lost all his hope yet. Everyone's hope had died and Arnold wanted to go somewhere where his hope can remain.

I think that Rowdy didn't go with Arnold because he didn't want to betray the Indians. Rowdy has already given up on himself. His dad beats him and everyone is scared of him. Rowdy build up the reputation of being the mean kid in the rez. He doesn't want to start a new life at Rearden.

54907 I think that Mr.P said "kill the Indian to save the child" because he knew that he did something wrong. He hurt Indians because he believed that all Indians should be "white" instead. I think he really regretted doing it and he felt bad. He gave up on himself and he excepted Arnold not to do the same. He thinks that Arnold still has hope and he should leave the rez so he can keep the hope that he still has.

When Arnold said that his sister was "trapped" he meant that she wanted to live in a place where happy endings and romance existed. She knows that reality in the rez isn't exactly all butterflies and glitter. She rather be stuck in a book than to be walking down the streets of the rez. The basement reminds her of the world that she dreams of being in.

54907 I interviewed my mom, Nancy. Her most important object was this teddy bear. Her mom gave it to her when she was really little. My mom had a lot of teddy bear, but this one was special because her mom made it for her. When your squeezed the hand it would say I LOVE YOU!!! It was also very special because my mom hasn't seen her mom for nine years. Her mom was very sick and didn't see her very often. Every time my mom sees the teddy bear, it will remind her of all the happy memories they had together.
