54907 I read an article in People magazine. It was about the divorce between Kim Karadashian and Kris Humphries and what "really" happened between the couple. The audience was people who wanted to know what happened and why the marriage only lasted for 72 days. The writer wrote about the situation but she was bias to Kim Karadashian. I know this because it would say that Kris was a 'bad husband' but that is an opinion which means that the writer thinks that it was Kris's fault for the divorce.

54907 I think "Sorry for Not Being a Stereotype" by Rita Pyrillis relates to The Absolutely True Diary of a Part-Time Indian because Arnold is always talking in the book how many stereotypes there are about Native Americans/Indians.
I think this affects Arnold so, so, so, much! In the last chapter we read it was when Roger told Arnold that really racist joke. In this story I noticed Rita Phyrillis said " Sometimes, people simply don't believe I'm an Indian. 'You don't look like Indian', a women told me once." Which is something we talked about in class. How do you know what an 'Indian' looks like? You can't just stereotype what you think they look like. If you say oh all Indians' wear feathers, that is being a stereotype. You can't judge a book by its cover!

54907 I think Arnold told Rowdy that if he stays on the rez he will "die" because the rez is a hopeless place. For example, Mary had hopes and dreams of becoming an author that writes romance novels but instead she spends her time in her parent's basement doing nothing. Staying on the rez for Mary has done nothing for her just make her life horrible. I also think Arnold has dreams and hopes on his own and he wants his dreams and hopes to come true but after his conversion with Mr. P he realized that Mr. P was right if he does stay on the rez he will be like everyone else having no hopes and dreams of his own.

I think Rowdy didn't go with Arnold because he doesn't care about school and becoming something. I think this because Rowdy beats kids up and his father beats him up and he doesn't think outside from the rez he only has one friend that is going to leave him. I think Arnold made Rowdy REALLY upset about leaving and Rowdy was so upset with Arnold he didn't even care that he punched him in the head after knowing that Arnold if Arnold gets in the head with his head he could get really hurt because of his brain problems.

54907 I think when Mr. P said "Kill the Indian to save the child" he wants the Indian children to have a better life like the white people. I think that because all of the people in Arnold's life didn't go far because of their background. I think that is why Mr. P say that to Arnold.
“My sister had become a humanoid underground dweller. There wasn’t much romance in that. Or maybe there was. Maybe my sister read romances all day. Maybe she was trapped in those romances.” I think Arnold was surprised that his sister had hope of becoming something when she was younger but when she got older she lost the passion for it. I think his sister is trapped in a dream that she once wanted to become and now she is just stuck in the bottom of her parent's basement everyday because she never got to go farther with what she wanted to do.

54907 I interviewed my mom, Jackie. Her favorite object is her Mother Child Sculpture that sits on a shelf in our living room. She loves her Mother Child Sculpture because her mother gave it to her. Jackie got it when I was born. She thinks it symbolizes our relationship. The sculpture is made out of grey marble. It has two faces on it. One is the mother and the other one is the child. In my opinion, I think the child is sleeping on the mother's arm. The mother holds her hand under the child, like she's holding it (the child). I understand why my mom loves this sculpture because it means something to her. When she looks at she thinks of her daughter and her mother.
