Dear ms flagg i am unable to complete this assignment because i have just started my book. I will most likely complete the assignment by friday march 30th.
I think that the Poem Neighbors relates to The OUtsiders the most. I think this is because both the poem and the book have restrictions that have to do with territory. In the poem, Neighbors, the territorial possession was litteral whereas in the book it was more metaphorical. In the poem the author states how he does not like things on his lawn or on his property. In the book the territory is distinct due to society's rules, greasers on the east side and soc's on the west.
I don't really know if i agree with Cherry's statement. I think this because I don't really know the soc's life style so i can't really judge them. However based on my prior knowledge I would say that i do agree because in everybody's life there are up's and down's. Depending on Cherry's tone in the book it sounds like they probably have a lot or pressure because if the high expectations from everybody.
I agree with this quote because To be in a community you everybody has to be together. However you dont have to physically live in the same area to be together. You just have to want the same goals or to unite with other people who want the same goals and want to achieve them. An example in which a community tried to reach a goal is how the gay community would strike and petition to reach the goal of allowing same sex marriage. A breakdown within the community is how the government and the church kept on disagreeing to there requirements. Even today some churches dont allow same sex marriages therefore, those couples can't get married there.

I recently finished reading an article on pbskids about bullying. The purpose of the article was to inform kids the different types of bullying and why some bullies bully. The audience they were addressing were the victims of bullies because mostly kids are bullied. The writer provided fair information because of hoe the author of the article depicted different examples of the types of bullying. A bias that i brought to my reading was that maybe the author was bullied as a child and that most likely inflicted on the article.
The article, "sorry I'm Not A Stereotype", by Rita Pyrillis applies to A.T.D because both Arnold and Rita are being judged by being Native American. Rita would be called names and would be criticized in this "white world" while Arnold is being bullied in his "white school". Arnold's life perspective is different because Arnold views white people as hope and that they're better than everybody else. Rita views white people as obnoxious bigots because they make fun of her and are racist towards her. Rita and Arnold have completely different views toward white people, although they are practically in the same predicament.
I think that Arnold told Rowdy he would die because he means that his hope would die not himself. Because Mr. P told Arnold that he had to leave because the reservation was killing his hope. Since then Arnold has been thinking and he realized that he didn't want his hope to die so he did what Mr. P told him to and went to an all white school.Rowdy didn't go because he doesn't agree with Arnold and he thinks he is a traitor. I think this because Arnold has always stuck to Rowdy's side and Rowdy has always stuck with him. So since Arnold is technically abandoning Rowdy. Rowdy takes this personally because he already feels abandoned because his parents doesn't associate with him.
1) I think what Mr. P means is that he has to kill the Indian culture and spirit to save the whites. Although Mr. P may act like he cares about the Indians and he wants to make sure they are treated properly but on the inside he really is a bitter old man who is racist and agrees that white people have superiority over Indians. Even though he told Arnold he had to leave the reservation because there was no hope on the reservation I believe that Mr. P told him that just to scare him off, to get rid of him. Maybe Mr. P is like all the other people who bully Arnold and he is just bullying him discretely. 2)
I think that Arnold refers to his sister like this because she is uncomfortable with herself and likes to conceal herself in her basement. And the second part of the quote means that maybe she isn’t uncomfortable with herself, and maybe she is uncomfortable with what she likes. So to resolve this problem she runs away to her basement so she can read her romance novels. I think that mybe Arnold is right and she is hiding something in the basement something she can’t afford to let people to see. She knows that if people found out it would destroy her macho-man reputation and people would undermine her.
I interviewed my friend about something very special to her.She said her yellow baby blanket. I asked her a few questions about it.
My friend said that she likes it a lot because she had it since she was a baby and that she got it from her uncle who passed away. She said that it was a bright yellow color but it is old and worn out so it had a dim yellow haze. it has crescent moons that remind her of big smiles. Her blanket was soft and fluffy and made her feel like she was sleeping with clouds. She said that when she was with her blanket she felt like a baby again and that she was free and that she wasn't afraid to be herself. It made her feel comfortable in her own skin.
