54907 I don't believe that what the man did is necessarily wrong because it was forced upon himself to provide for himself and his family so it is not really wrong. I believe that the reasons for doing something wrong is really what determines to what you really did was wrong or not.For example, if someone kills another man for self-defence then it is not necessarily wrong because it was for his own safety and so the meaning of doing something is a big part of whether it is truely right or wrong. I do also belive that the man should however have taken a different approach in getting bread because he can still be punished and my mom would always say"Don't do good things that seem bad" and so I think he should have not stolen it but nevertheless he was right for the reason as to why he would take the brread

54907 I think thatmy character Two- Bit is in the gang because he is a conformist. I think this because when Pony asked T.B why he liked fighting he just said because everybody else does it. This meakes me think that .B does most things so he go with the crowd and since he liked fighting because everyone else does then he probably is in the gang because everyone he knows is in one. this is why I think that T.B is a conformist because he wants to go along with society and he just wants to be like everybody else.

54907 I think Cherry did have a right of saying this because there are always going to be some sort of troubles no matter who you are with. maby they have family troubles or alcohol troubles or just need something to do to keep their minds off of something else. It is literally impossible to not have any problem whether big or small and so the soc's most likely do have a lot of problems. The Greasers think they have it hard and they do most likely harder than the soc's but that does not necessarily mean that the soc's don't have it hard because they do and there are problems that Greasers can't understand or know about so Cherry can indeed say that.

54907 I agree with what Ciero said in his quote because we all live to be in a community so we can have someone out there for you and you can have a friend to have your back and be there when you need them. Without communities a lot of people would be lonely and wouldn't necessarily have someone to trust and have someone to interact with.

One situation in a community that united to make a change is the allied forces in World War two because a lot of countries united into one community motivated by one cause which was the end of Hitler's reign of terror and they shared the same goal which they were determined to end this and they succeeded which was a successful community working out.

54907 I read the article "Bug Bites".
Genre: Non-fiction
purpose: To inform others about bugs and that they're being eaten.
Central Idea: Eating bugs can have positive effects.

SI: Bugs are good for you
-Bugs have a lot of protien
-bugs dont carry as much fat as other foods we eat
-a plate of cooked crickets are healthier than a hamburger.
-since there are so many bugs, eating them is good to lower the population
Eating bugs are normal
-half of the population on earth eat bugs
-lots if people in asia and other places eat lots of bugs
-bugs are served as regular cuisine
- people eat bugs sometimes as a delecacy

54907 I just finished eading the article called Administration to draw down National Guard troops on Southwest border By Mike M. Ahlers. the purpose of this article is about informing us that the homeland security and the Pentagon will be using less troops from the National Guard due to the budget and they will be using more technology instead of ground troops. The National Guard doesn't have that much control over the border because they only have fourty four percent of it controledwhich is not considered a success. I think the audience that the author is writing to is the public in specific the citizens of the U.S.A becuse citizens would like to know what is happening in their country. I think the author was giving fair information was very neutral and it provided quotes from the politicians that are both pro and con with the decision.

54907 I think "sorry for not being a stereotype" is like ADT because they both talk about how people stereotype indians by their past and not the way they are today. For Arnold these stereotypes come from most of the kids at Reardan while the author the stereotypes are from people all over.

Arnolds life is different from the authors because Arnold's stereotypes were mostly in his childhood where he's in poverty but for the author it is in her later years where a lot more people had stereotypes about her and she wasn't seeing this through poverty.

54907 I think the reason why Arnold told Rowdy that he would "Die" if he stays is not literally but metaphorically. I think what Arnold meant was that his dreams and hopes would die and so he wouldn't have a meaning of life to live for, but if Arnold goes to Reardon he would find hope and a meaning of life soe he wouldn't "die".

I think the reason why Rowdy doesn't want to go with Arnold is because he's scared of all those stereotypical kids that would just make fun of him. I think this because maybe Rowdy doesn't also want to become a sensative kid with all those kids making fun of him because in the text it says he hates to cry so this proves he doesn't wanna become sesative.

54907 I think the reason why Mr.P said "Kill the Indian to save the child" is because he also said that Arnold had to leave the Rez because all your hopes die and all people do is give up and since the Rez is filled with Indians I think one of the main reasons why they give up their hopes is exactly that- they're Indians. I'm not saying this to be racist or anything but I say this because since they're not white they can't have a rich life filled with hope but instead they think their Indian and Indians can't do the same that whites can, they just lay there hopelessly just thinking that because they're not white they have no future. WELL THAT'S WRONG! It doesn't matter whatever you are you can persue the life you want and dreams and so the only thing holding themselves back is themselves! That is why Mr.P said you have to "kill the Indian to save the child", you have to stop (kill) the negativity of being an Indian/ thinking you have no future, inorder to save the child's future in their life ahead so they can live their dreams filled with hope.
I agree with what Alice said about Arnold's sister was "Trapped" because she doesn't want to be at the rez but instead she'd rather be living in her own fantasy and so she lives in the basement so she ould get herself as far away from the reality of the rez as she can and so she just "traps" herself into her own fantasy that she would want to live in.

54907 My mothers most important thing was her ring that she got from her Quinceanera (Sweet fifteen). This was one of her most important thiing in her life because it reminded her of when she was in her teens in which she fell in love with my dad. Her ring glimmered like the stars at night with the gold along with the unforgettable sparkles of the Emeralds and Diamonds as if it was a constlelation of green and white beautiful stars in the perfect night sky. She would always wear the ring until this day she still has it and still has a special place for it in her heart.
