My first childhood book was probably a Dr. Seuss book - my phonics skills really came in handy reading about "drumming on drums..."

One of the first series I got hooked on was Little House on the Prairie. I loved reading about Laura Ingalls and the trials and tribulations of Walnut Creek and all those hardy pioneers. I still have a pioneer dress I made as one of my Hallowe'en costumes. Maybe I shouldn't admit how much of geek I am. I won't begin to tell you about my passion for reading Anne of Green Gables...
