There's some great reading going on. Kudos to everyone!
Reminder: The totals for the August/September month challenges will not be added to your personal totals until the end of September.
Don't forget that you get one virtual ticket to our year-end drawing for every 10 books you read. We still have 4 months to go, so there's plenty of time to earn more tickets. Keep an eye on your total and maybe challenge yourself to reach that next multiple of 10.
And here are our totals as of the end of August.

Good job, everyone!
Your moderators,
Rhonda, Linda, and Michelle

We are making some changes to how prizes are won. When selecting prompts for the new year, we reserve one spot in the main challenge, the bingo board, and the monthly specials. In the past, the top 3 places on the leaderboard at the end of the year would be able to choose a prompt from those openings. First place chose first, then second place, then third. No repeats of prompt categories. It was all based on the number of points you earned.
Based on a suggestion from Wanda, we are changing to a method that will give every member who posts at least 10 books a chance to win. For every 10 points you earn, you will receive a virtual ticket for a virtual drawing. At the end of the year, there will be a random drawing for 3 winners.
* You cannot win more than one prize.
* There are no "half" tickets and we do not round up. So if you post 29 books, that is 2 tickets.
* Challenges earn 1 point per prompt met, except for BINGO, which has a different method of assigning points.
* If you get two BINGOs, you will receive 10 points, thus one ticket. A BINGO blackout is worth an additional 30 points. Books on the BINGO card that are not part of a BINGO do not earn any points, so they don't go towards tickets.
* Books added to the Bonus Challenge do not count toward tickets since they don't earn points.
* Moderators can place on the leaderboard, but are not eligible for prizes.
If you want to know how many tickets you have, divide your leaderboard total by 10.
If you have any questions, please post them here.
Rhonda

We have a new member this year! Gillis, we are so happy to have you join us.
Connie has already earned a BINGO and Lisa has completed the "Books Published in the Same Year" category. Way to go!
Announcement: We are changing how prizes are chosen at the end of the year. We want everyone to have a chance to win and we hope our new method will allow for that. The rules will be updated with the change soon.
And now for our personal totals! As always, this is just for fun. We appreciate everyone's participation in this group, no matter how many books you read for it. You guys are the best!

What a wonderful start to our year. Have a great reading month in February. May you find a new favorite!
Your moderators,
Rhonda, Linda, and Michelle

Just send your answer tomorrow to Linda. She keeps them secret, even from other moderators. :)
Rhonda

This will bring it to the top of the board each month, making it easier to find.
(Oops! I was not able to get it done by the 7th. New goal is today, the 8th.)

We've been trying to contact you, but have not had a reply, so I'm resorting to this.
Congratulations! You won 3rd prize in the Bookworm Challenge for 2024! You can choose a monthly special, so please message Linda and talk with her about that. If you don't wish to participate, please let us know that as well.
If you have contacted her, please disregard this. :)
Have a great day,
Rhonda
