I haven't read it yet myself, but nominated for the 2011 Hugo was Feed by Mira Grant. It was also on Locus magazine's 2010 recommended reading list, and was featured on John Scalzi's "Big Idea" feature at http://whatever.scalzi.com/2010/04/30...

Thanks for the invite, Dierdra... I'm Steve, a 40-something Californian, toiling away in the underbelly of the video games industry...

I grew up reading 1970s scifi, which probably goes a long way towards explaining how I became a nudist... (Well, that, and the joy of freedom on Californian nude beaches...)

In any event, between the long train commute and the trips to the beach, my reading has picked up more than dropped off, and the Internet has let me find a treasure trove of awesome stuff to read.
