56091 SO in anticipation of our Book Club Meeting this week, there was an article that was published on Friday about the SyFy Channel acquiring the rights to The Magicians and adapting it as a TV show. Apparently, the premiere of the show will be sometime in 2015 and have cast Quentin and Alice!

Here is more information:

Yeah neither did I!!! Apparently Nicole Kidman was making the rounds the week it was released promoting the movie. I didn't see anything of the sort!

56091 Well.....apparently this movie based on the book we read ages ago has been out in theaters since October 31st!

I just got wind of the trailer and it has Nicole Kidman playing the lead role, Mark Strong as her shrink, and Colin Firth as her "husband".

Check it out:

56091 So in the spirit of reading Dark Places by Gillian Flynn, Reddit has a forum on their website called AMA (Ask Me Anything). One of their AMAs was Gillian Flynn herself.

Now it deals with all 3 of her books so there are spoilers here and there about Gone Girl and Sharp Objects so read at your own risk even though the commenters try their best to conceal them. Definitely interesting to check out!
56091 Hey everyone!

So I follow a website called io9.com which is a site for pop culture sci-fi of all sorts and this is where I got a couple of book club suggestions in the past. I also keep up to date on some of the books that I may be interested in reading.

Anyways, io9 holds a montly book club as well where they assign a book for their readers to check out and then they convene the following month in the comments thread to talk about the book. Sometimes, they manage to get the author into it and the readers are able to ask them questions about the book.

July's pick for io9 was The Girl with All The Gifts so yesterday they happened to have a Q&A with the author.

Here is the link if you want to check it out:

56091 Here's the new trailer that just got released for Divergent. They certainly show a hell of a lot more. It's pretty neat pointing out the brief moments from certain chapters while watching this trailer.

Yeah, I see the play on words for the tagline there but definitely not the best creative way to sell the movie lol

56091 Here's the trailer for The Book Thief.

Not sure what I can get out of this trailer but certainly Death doesn't seem to be anywhere present in it. Then again it's on;y the first trailer
