I admire Veronica Roth so much and I believe she is an incredible author, but I don't like what she turned the Tris character into in the second book. Tris was basically an idiot in the second book. I maybe understand why she did all the crazy stuff. I understand most of it was her love for Tobias and other people, but she could've done it in a way that wasn't stupid or suicidal. I really hope that turns around in the third book and Tris is once again "Brave, selfless, and a total badass." Like you said Hope.

And she doesn't seem like someone who could go through all the pain that Tris did."I agree! I actually never even thought about the hair...but if they didn't I would be a little angry. I don't like when they change the appearance of a character when they adapt the book to a movie. The thing about her being able to tolerate all the pain that Tris did was definitely something I considered. She just doesn't seem like she could portray the same personality and characteristic traits that make up Tris.

I read an article about Shailene Woodley being casted as Tris and in the article/interview she shared some of her thoughts about it. I don't think Shailene is right for Tris. The way she talked about the character made me feel like she won't be right for this role. She almost knew nothing about the character and the way she described her isn't anything like the actual character. Plus, her comparing these books to Twilight and Hunger Games didn't make me very happy considering I'm not a fan of those. I was wondering what all of you thought about Shailene being casted as Tris?

I do supposed it is a bit of a double standard, I think maybe my higher expectations for Tris made me only see all the things she did to him/lied to him about. I guess reading from her perspective really highlights everything she has done wrong and not him. But I do agree that he hasn't been completely honest with her either.

It helped me relate to her more! :)

I can't wait to see what happens in the third book. I'm going crazy waiting for it!
I loved Tris in Divergent, but she sort of annoyed me in Insurgent. I didn't like that she went against Tobias and everything he said or asked her to do. He asked her not to do something or go somewhere and she did it anyway. That was a little irritating to me. Tobias started to grow on me even more because of this. I almost felt bad for him more than I did for Tris.
