5711 Today it became official that Secret Speakers won the 2008 Reader's Choice Award at Textnovel. My kids are going to really think I'm cool now. I just wanted to say thank you to Stan Soper and all those who voted for Secret Speakers on his cell phone novel site. I really appreciate everyone's support. I had a lot of fun being one of the first author's to ever win an award in the United States for a cell phone novel submission!

5711 Great review on using cell phones to explore writing in the classroom. Thanks for the heads up. Having taught in the classroom, there are some students who don't have the kinetic skill to write easily, and it ends up being an excercise in frustration for them. Texting might open other alternatives.

5711 It's too superficial for my tastes. That isn't to say I won't start using it one day...and if I do, well then my opinion of it will have changed. :)

5711 Yes, I'd like to know when the new version of http://www.textnovel comes out, too. Please let us know.
5711 That's great news about Textnovel.com's high reviews. Hopefully will change the quality of cell phone texting from superficial conversations, to good literature! It worked in Japan, so why not here?

Oh, and you're welcome, Stan. I'm really impressed with the whole concept.

5711 I didn't see directions on how to go to the site to vote, so if it's alright, I'll post them here:
Go to http://www.coolsiteoftheday.com and vote where it says "Today's Cool Site." There's a calendar icon next to it on the left hand side of the screen about halfway down.)

Here's the link again: http://www.coolsiteoftheday.com.

I think it's an amazing site, because it gives a whole new purpose to texting on cellphones. (And you can email in your stories, too.) Very cool.
5711 Let us know how Textnovel.com does as the cool site of the day, Stan. It's great to see people using their cellphones to send in their stories to your website. Teachers and parents might actually glad to see their kids texting!

5711 $1000 prize for the winning story on your cellphone novel website? Cool! I was just on your website...and thanks for putting me on the board, Stan.

It will be fun to see where this goes. There are so many incredible young writers here that would have fun texting or emailing in their stories.

Good luck.
5711 It was fun to see the video review for textnovel, Stan! If anyone wants to know...drag the time bar to 133 seconds. His mention of it starts there.

5711 I want to text a story to textnovel for fun, but I don't see on your website main page how to do that. But then again, I'm sort of slow...:O)

Did I miss where the phone number is, or the code?
5711 I know the cellphone novel notion is controversial, but like you say, it's going to happen eventually. There are a lot of gifted young writers out there, who are also used to texting all the time, so, I wish you lots of luck in getting this going!

Let me know if I can help!
