I thought of another pet peeve. I love short stories, but i hate buying an e-story, paying full book price and discovering that it is only a short. Short stories should have short story prices.
Because I am primarily an E-Author I get this question all the time. I believe that when the dust settles e-books are going to expand the market share of hardcover books. As a reader if I find a story I love, I am going to invest in a hard cover, first edition or maybe a limited edition authors copy.
E-books, E-authors, and E-readers are changing the landscape of publishing, however I also believe that more people are going to rediscover the joy of reading, and that the industry will not only survive but thrive.
What about you, What predictions do you see in your crystal ball?
I was much more forgiving as a reader then I am now as an author, I have several things that really drive me nuts. However, here are my top two. My first pet peeve is when the Hero of the story is Whinny. I really like kickass women, and believe that the female hero should be as strong as her male counterpart.
My second pet peeve is a miss understood villains. I want the bad guy to be bad, I want to cheer at his demise. Not feel sorry for him.
Your turn, what are your Pet Peeves?
I knew I was in trouble, when the first day the manager showed me the storage outside the back door and told me if the "Feds" every come in to the store, my number one priority was to make sure to get to the back room and lockup the storage. It may have been the cowards' way out, but when I went to lunch that day, I never went back. Your turn. Tell me your story of the worst or best boss you have ever had.
